I've never heard of this resort. Is it a good resort? Is it 1.5 miles south or north of WDW?

Hi Guys! Brand new chatter here. Is this resort a good one? For a 1st timer to WDW, which value resort should I be taking my fam to?

I stayed here in Dec 2001 and it was lovely. That was our first visit to Orlando so we didn't quite know what to expect, but this hotel was very nice and is in a good location. (Although it's quite close to the major road works at the 192 junction with the I-4 which are going on now). It's far enough away for any noise not to be a bother.
It's literally 10 minutes in the car to WDW and 20 mins to Universal. The hotel is just across the road from Celebration.

Our room was very well appointed and there were two nice pools (one heated), kiddies pool and a hot tub. Nice restaurant and also a deli diner and sports bar.

I would definitely stay there again. :)
