Are the Annual Passes for Seaworld and Universal Studios all you need for entry into the parks as much as you want?
If so, why do they offer to give you a 10% discount off 1 and 2 day park tickets. I don't want to buy annual passes only to find that I also need a ticket. Sorry, I've got a Universisy education but I cannot work that one out.
Anyone help?
If I do only need annual passes & buy them now, does the year for their use begin the first time I go to the Park?

Thanks for any help.

Katie

Right.

Having just bought a Universal annual pass, I think I can help you on this one!

Yup, your annual pass will allow you entry into the parks at any time, there aren't any blackout dates on them and you do get some fantastic discounts and offers on them. I know when we were there last (January), we must have saved something along the lines of $200 on food and souvenirs, and don't forget the saving in Universal in that you don't have to pay car parking, a saving of $8 each time!

The 10% saving on 1 and 2 day passes is if you want to buy other people in your group tickets. You don't have to buy any extra tickets to gain entry into the parks for yourself!

Your annual pass is activated the first time you use it at the turnstile. And put on your best smiley face, as you'll have to have your picture taken for your AP!

Seaworld are currently running their 'Fun Card' deal, which means you can pay the normal gate price of something like $51, and gain access for the rest of the year for no extra charge! It's not an annual pass, as it runs out on December 31st 2003.

Hope this helps!

I received an AP for Seaworld as a Christmas gift. I must use it for the first time before March. It will then be valid for one year from that date.

I don't know if the need to activate it by a certain date is a usual component of Seaworld APs or if the gift I received was a special offer.

The only time you'll pay extra to enter Universal with an AP is when they have special events, like Halloween Horror Night, etc.

Thanks for replies. All clear now. I've only ever had flex tickets before so the AP's are new to me.

Lavender

Can you expand on the different discounts available with your AP and where you can get discounts?

ah, now you're asking!

I know you get something like either 10-20% discount on the food outlets in the parks. According to the information we were given with our AP's this does not actually apply to the little stalls situated throughout the parks, and to be honest, we didn't try using them either.

As far as I remember, you get something like 20% off all store purchases, which is quite a lot!

Then they offer 30% off 'onsite' hotels (subject to availablity as per usual).

And of course, the free parking, which as I said, at $8 a time, makes for quite a saving each time, especially if you're like us and use those parks frequently.

I know on the occasions we paid for food within the parks (Burger Digs at IOA), the cashier was only to happy to oblidge, and even gave the kids a couple of cookies each free of charge!

I'd have to check, but most places we showed our AP's , they were only too happy to help.

Thanks LL!

We're staying 4 nights, so an AP could save us on park dining and souvenirs.
Did you buy an AP for each of your party or just one?:)

Hi.

No, we bought one for everyone, we usually end up going a couple of times a year (although over the last 365 days, we ended up going 3 times, nearly 4 give or take a month!), so it works out so much cheaper.

Plus we bought them on the Universal website, when they had their offer of buy one, get second half price.

I wish he did!

Would solve sooooo many problems right now!

I'm starting to believe we're jinxed when it comes to Disney and Florida, every time we go, something bad happens when we get back.

Head gasket has gone on the car, to the tune of some £800!

Hmmm, methinks it's time to get a new car!

......or sell the car, emigrate to Florida, and get around on Disney transportation! :D :D
