Hi Disneytracy

I have been to Garotland and it's a brilliant half day escape from the crowds. It's very sloooooow pace and relaxed.

Dion't expect it to be emmaculate like Disney because it isn't, but there are good Gator feeding shows and lovely walks to go on and a brilliant observation tower.

I fed the Emu's which was brilliant, very funny!

It really is worth the trip, here's the website:

Tell me what you think?

Aaaah!!

That's just reminded me! I haven't finished November's Trip Report!!:(
The next bit will be 'Gatorland' so I'll save my comments for you 'till then!!;)

All I'll say is "worth a visit"!:D

I went a few years back. Definitely worth half a day if you're all Moused out. Not to Disney standards in theming but still a cool place to see. Get your photo taken in the entrance jaws. You get to feed the gators too (from a great height) but my fishies were still frozen which seemed to put the beasties off. They had some nice relaxing walks marked out and a little train which crosses some of the gator pools on a very rickety track.

The gift shop is full of gator related products which I found a little off-putting but they farm them specifically for such purposes which I guess is better than killing wild gators for their skins.

Oh oh oh oh and when I was there I had my photo taken with a giant python. I still have that photo somewhere. You could have a photo with a baby gator too - jaws taped shut. :)

Been a few times. Worth going on your first day if you haven't got the energy for the main parks.

It's half day out but don't expect too much. It's fun to see some Florida wildlife.

If you have a spare afternoon in your schedule then id definately reccommend a visit to Gatorland. Its a nice escape from the busy atmosphere of the parks. Theres a few shows and things, I remember one 'Steve Irwin' type guy doing a wee show with snakes which was really interesting. You can feed the Gators (they can jump pretty high ya know!:) ) or in a manner of speaking, they can feed you! By that I mean you can have 'Gator Bites' cooked Alligator im assuming, not you being thrown into a gator pen :D :D

I've been there a couple of times and really enjoyed it. It is a bit out of the way but provides a nice break if you aren't doing Disney every day.

We went in Nov 2001.

Good for about three hours tops. Loads of Gators, Crocs and other repitles.

Shows are good, especially the Gator jump and cracker wrestling.

Whilst feeding the crocs, watch out for thieving birds. Can be quite dangerous.

Couldn't work out the point of the train???

Not the sort of place your going to visit again next time though.

Apparently most of their visitors are Brits.
