Hi i am planning a visit to disney land soon, and my daughters are wanting to swim with the dolphins, in discovery cove. I wanted to know:-

1. if any one has booked this?
2. what they thought?
3. if it was worth it(value for money)
4. actual time in the water with the dolphins?
5. and if it is video'ed for you.
if any body can help it would be appreciated.

yes it was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. You get around 30 mins with the dolphin, it is videoed(?) but at a price - $59 i think it was. There is plenty to do after you have done the swim and is very relaxing. Ask any more questions you want:D

Hi! I just visited Discovery Cove less than a month ago with my 8 year old son and 11 year old daughter. It was the BEST thing I ever did!!! We booked the trip back in January for our 4th day in Disney, and it was a wonderful relaxing day after running around the parks for 3 days!

It is expensive, but worth every penny. You're in the water around 45 minutes with the dolphin but then afterwards you float around the coves and under waterfalls all day plus go snorkeling in a separate cove. They also give you a wonderful buffet lunch!
My kids and I loved it. And I would go back there in a heartbeat!!!!

I am considering this excursion for a group of 6 including my 6 yr old DD and 11 yr old DS. My DS is a good swimmer and DD is about to do her 5m badge. My problem is 2 adults in our party are total non swimmers but animal lovers. Do you think DC will be ok for this very mixed group. MY DD has added this to the top of her wish list.

Any info or links would be appreciated.

Done it two weeks ago:

2. what they thought?
Excellent. Lot less crowded, but requires planning beforehand

3. if it was worth it(value for money)
Depends. For our family (2 ad 2 ch) it was over £700. Was it worth that for one day out? Probably not, but it's a experience you can not get anywhere else within the Orlando area,

4. actual time in the water with the dolphins?
Approx 30 mins, including introduction to your dolphin. You are allocated a time slot upon arrival to the park on a first come, first served basis. Park opens at 9:00am daily. We arrived at 8:30am and there was already a queue. Heard that the dolphins are more active in the morning and didn't want to have to "clock watch" all day. Got a 9:00am slot. Upon entering the water, the dolphin comes close to you under instructed. You are encouraged to touch the dolphin, then take it in turns to get either a kiss or a hug. Then in groups of three you go into deeper water, where the dolphin will dance for you. Finally, you are one at a time given a ride to the shore.

5. and if it is video'ed for you.
Yep, at a cost. $49.95 + tax per video, which includes your swim after a park overview. Our group was 8 in total of which 6 were our party. However, the entire group is on the video.

you get seven days admission to seaworld included - just show your confirmation letter/email at the entrance. It can be used before or after your DC day

1. if any one has booked this?
Yep, we're in the UK and found it cheapest to book direct on the DC website

2. what they thought?
Very much so. Was incredible. I loved the beach, where you could watch the dolphns all day if you wanted to. There were very few people when we went as it was only a week after 9/11, but since there's only a certain number of people alowed in each day, I can't imagine it getting too busy.

3. if it was worth it(value for money)
every penny

4. actual time in the water with the dolphins?
about 45 mins

5. and if it is video'ed for you.
Yes, and we bought it. Tip: if you have a large group. Split the group in two. Whilst one group is in the water, get the other part of the group to video you (if you have a camcorder). The people at DC had no problem with this and it ensures only the people you want to see are on the vid!

Hope this helps!

Did the dolphin swim last Sunday, it was wonderful, only problem is it went far too fast, it must be the quickest 30 mins of your life.

Would we do it again? YES, so I would recommend that you book it without hesitation. A fantastic day.

Just so you know the 7 day sea world pass included in the price now includes Busch Gardens.

I love reading about the great experiences some of you have had at DC, makes me even more excited (didn't even know that was possible) about my swim in December :)
