DVC discount in Paris - anyone else had problems

We went to Paris for the weekend, and couldn't resist a visit to the Disney shop of the Champ Elysee. When we presented our DVC card, we were told - very rudely - NON!!!

Thankfully, my husband speaks very good French & argued our case and they finally granted us the 10%.

Has anyone else had trouble using their DVC card in other countries?

Don't have DVC but had plenty of problems with people being rude in Paris and DLP too :(
