Can anyone tell me why a Grand Villa @ BWV is way more points than OKW. Is the villa any bigger or is it just the location? Just curious if anyone knows. We are trying to plan for Thanksgiving of 2004 or Mardi Gras of 2005.

Thanks

Having stayed at OKW in a studio in Nov. of '02 I found the place very, very nice! I think you'll get more bang for your buck at OKW but if you love the Boardwalk location it may be worth the extra points it costs. The only thing I didn't like at OKW was the pool. For kids who like pizaaz (sp?) and slides it didn't really have either.

I think I agree with you Big Thunder. but my home resort is BWV, so my quandry is should I book the GV at BWV 11 mths out or wait till 7 mths and book OKW? What would you do?

draje01,
I have heard that GV are hard to book most of the time. With you going at such a popular time, I would suggest two options:

1. Book your BWV GV at the 11month window on a day by day basis. At the 7 month window, try and wait list yourselves for the OKW GV. I don't know if you will have to bank/borrow points to accomplish the first ressie (we would)...but, I was thinking if the OKW ressie came through for you using less points, you could either stay longer or bank this year's points that you wouldn't have to use for the new ressie.

2. Get someone from OKW who would like to trade points with you for BWV and have them make the ressie for you at the 11month window for OKW (day by day). (You in turn would make a ressie of their choice at BWV).

Good luck in booking!

I have not been a DVC member for long, it will be a year this July. So I have not really experienced enough of the booking to know how quickly places book. I have heard that the Grand Villas at OKW do book fast. As a matter of fact when we were at OKW last November we just wanted to see one & it couldn't be arranged our whole time there as they were always full. I think they are quite desirable. Does BWV book up fast? If you don't think so then maybe wait & try in 7 months & if they are full then do the BWV. Like I said though, I have no idea how fast they go.

I am thinking about getting 2-2 bedrooms instead of a grand villa now. I could bring more people with me and it's less points either way (BWV or OKW). I think I may just go the safest route and book BWV. Thanks for your feedback!!!
