I know this has probably been discussed before, but I can't remember what the norm is to give mousekeeping. Also, how does everyone leave it, on a table or in an envelope? :)

I think the norm is all over the board... :hehe: I think I remember reading on the tip site recently that $1 per person per day is suggested. That's what I'm doing, putting it in the Mousekeeping envelopes.

That sounds reasonable. Definitely in my price range. :) Do you make your own mousekeeping envelopes? :)

Hubby and I leave $5 a day. Good, bad or indifferent, that is what we leave...

We left the same last year, $5/day.

Yes, I print out my own, from PSCalculator.net's link. Made some specifically for the AKL though - got a bit carried away.

I just print out the ones from on-line. Got enough to do without creating my own.... LOL although I was thinking about it for the Oct trip...

I have my own soap/candle business and I plan to bring along a small basket and leave "goodies" for our mousekeepers each day!

We usually leave $5 a day, for average service. If we have our favorite girl then of course we leave her with a big smile.
dalspot - What a nice idea. It would probably be a good idea to leave some sort of note each day, with an explaination, or speak to the head mousekeeper, so that no one thinks they are stealing from your room.

I planned to do up a little sign "For our Mousekeeper" and attach it to the basket
:)
I leave votives and such with tips all the time at home.

What a sweet idea! I know Luvalab has made some really cute sheets of note paper so that she can leave notes for Mousekeeping!

This is great and helpful inforamtion for me as i never know just what to do!! Do you leave a tip each day or at the end of your stay .... i guess that might not work since you might get a differnent mousekeeper each day i love the idea of leaving them a little special item how nice. I have seen some posts that the mousekeepers fold the washclothes and towels like little animals and set up stuffed animals (those belonging to the guest) on the beds to make it extra special!! Is this something that all the disney mousekeepers so or if you are lucky to get someone who goes the extra mile?
i dont want to say i am looking forward o our trip ..... but i have 87 days 3 hours 22 minutes 28 seconds 27 .... 26 ...... 25 :)

We leave a tip each day. You might have different mousekeepers during your stay.
Unfortunately not everyone gets those cute towel animals. We spent 4 nights at AKL last year and didn't get any. :(

We stayed at CBR last year and we didn't get any towel animals either. My kids were really excited the first day we came back to the room hoping to find something but nothing special was done. It was a little disappointing for my kids.:(

We had the towel thing done at the All-Star resorts, at FQ, and at POR. Not at AKL, GF or CBR.
When we had the granddaughters down there (All-Star Movies), we'd return to our room to find all sorts of interesting things. Once Pluto was sitting on the end of the bed holding the remote, while all the rest of the gang sat around watching cartoons on the Disney Channel (what else?). Photos taken at Hoop-De-Doo found their way into our window - with the girls' Guest of Honor badges placed correctly beside each girl! The younger of the two couldn't figure out how Mousekeeping knew which girl was which! Easy! The younger was wearing her GoH badge in the photo!
At FQ we found a little "man" made out of towels peeking out our window waiting for us! At POR a cute little chick was sitting on our bed!

you would think that WDW would have classes on the towel folding techniques and things to make guests feel extra special!! I would think that the mousekeepers would be motivated to do this let me be honest if we had someone who took the time and energy to do something specail we would be tipping that person something extra!!

We got a towel duck at AKL. He is so cute. I asked the manager if I could keep him and he said yes (didn't want to steal the duck). Our mousekeeper did cute things with Mickey as well.

Last year at Movies our Mousekeepers arranged the kids' stuffed animals and toys everyday. One day we came home and Piglet was catching some rays in the window wearing a pair of the kids' sunglasses, another day they were all camped around a map of MK as if they were planning their next visit. Cole thought his Buzz Lightyear doll would come alive while we were gone and clean our room for us since he was always found standing guard on the table.
This year we stayed at Sports and WL and got nothing like this. The kids were *very* disappointed (and to be honest, so were DH and I). We loved coming back to the room to see what everyone was doing each day.

So...even if the service is bad you would leave a $10.00 tip per day?!

We went to Pop Century last year and didn't have anything done for the first few days, so... We set up our cuddly toys to be watching television with the remote in disney-bears hand! :D
The next day we had all our "little" teddy's scaling a "toilet tissue rope" up the corner of the window! Was very cute, and made us laugh!
... we dont have kids

Most of our towel animal experiences were at Poly. One time, though, while we were staying at WL, we had towel animals almost every day. We looked forward to coming back to the room. One time, when we stayed at Poly, the maid took the stuffed toys and had them play Hide and Seek, with Minnie doing the counting :notlook: while everyone else hid. :sofa:
My DDs found a trick that works about half the time  . When we left that morning to go to the parks or whatever, they would leave their stuffed toys on the beds so that the maids had to take them off to make the beds, then sometimes the maid would arrange the toys to be doing something, like watching TV.

Plus Im going to Florida in 10 days so it's a little more interest to me now. We're going to give $5 a day too.
