What would members recommend...We are looking to adding more points to our membership.
Should you add on more points to your original deed?....or purchase a new ownership at another resort to add on points?
I am not sure which route to go....??

I've never added points so I'm not sure either. Perhaps DC has and will come along shortly to advise.

I know that purchasing another contract at a resort other than your original home, can give you two home resorts with all the attendent perks that go along with that. I believe you need to be alert to the use years to keep things easy to manage.

Adding on at your home resort is where the use year becomes significant, I believe.

Where are you thinking about adding on?

Do you like you current home resort and use-year? If you are happy with your home resort and UY, then an add on to your current contract would make your life a whole lot simpler.

We decided we wanted the flexibility of a different resort AND a different UY--so, we bought a second contract at a different resort, but it is tricker to manage especially when booking a vacation at the highest demand times. (There are ways around this by banking and borrowing and alternating between the 2 resorts, but you have to really plan carefully! Another way around this is to book at the 11month window sun-thurs at the home resort and use the other points for sat/sun at the 7 month window.)

Of course, if you never book at the 11month window (or even between the 7 month and 11 month window) and/or you don't like to go at the most crowded times (and you don't ever plan to call that far in advance), it wouldn't matter much where your home resort is--and an add onto your current contract would be the most practical.

Thanks for the advice!

Our current deed is at Vero Beach, and we would really like to have a deed in WDW to give us the larger window for booking.

Does anyone know if they are still running a special at the Boardwalk? I remember seeing something earlier in the spring about it. But I have only heard about Vero Beach add on's recently.

Boardwalk, Old Key West, WLV and I believe (but not positive) Beach Club villas are sold out. Last I spoke with a guide they were hoping to start selling Saratoga Springs soon.

I did receive something in the mail a bit ago informing me that DVC had some additional property to offer at one of the sold out resorts. I didn't pay much attention because I'm not in the market to purchase.

A quick call to your guide should reveal any properties for sale.

Don't forget, if you want to go with an entirely new contract you can purchase through resale. DVC will treat you no differently than if you purchased directly from Disney.

We just stayed at the Boardwalk and signed up for the DVC we were able to make the Boardwalk our home resort as they are moving their offices and converting that space into rooms! The Beach club is still available and that is what they were pushing while we were there.

I was quite excited to get the Boardwalk!:D
