We have never been to universal, i was looking over the rides and stuff it looked like fun, i thought my two teens 15, 17 and dh could go over for one day on our visit, can you see everything in just one day?? we have three youger kids that i dont think this would be the park for them they are much more WDW. I saw about these fotl passes if you stay in one of thier hotels on another post. We thought about extending our stay one night would it be worth it to stay in one thier hotels to take advantage of this fotl pass which hotels are the ones you need to stay in? sorry for all the questions!

The FOTL is kewl,,

but just to let you know,, they are also now doing express passes on 'credit card type things' that you can have which basically gets you the same benefit as 'express pass'. It's only good for a day I believe,, and once per ride. It's an extra $20.00 on top of your IOA ticket, or Universal ticket,, and from what I understand, it can be used in only one of the two parks for the day.

The teenagers will love IOA,, and they will be begging you to let them just go there next trip, instead of Disney.

Hi!

If your teens like thrilling ride, they will love Universal's Islands Of Adventure. I love this park, the rides are great esp Hulk coaster and Duelling Dragons. The water rides are good fun too, and Spiderman 3D ride is excellent. I prefer this park to Universal Studios itself - attractions are good there, but I prefer more exciting stuff, although Back to the Future 3D ride is a lot of fun. You need two days if you want to do both parks, i'd say if you only want to visit one park a day will be ok. There is a kiddies section in Islands of Adventure (Cat in the Hat or something?), I think there is a kids section in Universal Studios too, although I agree some bits might be boring for small children. In Universal a lot of the attractions such as Twister, you have to go in and watch plays etc, it might be boring for small children. Hope that helps, although don't have any experience with staying in their hotels so can't help on the passes thing.

The official statement, apparently. :)

Universal Orlando Resort will launch Universal Express Plus in addition to the existing Universal Express program. Universal Express Plus is replacing the Attraction Booklet test, offering guests a new level of convenience and service at a relatively small cost. The Universal Express Plus pass allows guests to create their own schedule and maximize their experience at UO with shorter wait times at the attractions.

Universal Express/Universal Express Plus Accessible Attractions:
*Universal Express Plus passes are valid 1-hour after park opening until park close *

Universal Express Plus Pass Pricing:
Universal Express Plus pass prices vary between peak park attendance and non-peak park attendance days.

Peak - $20 per pass
June 29 through August 23
November 26-November 30
December 20 through January 4

Non-Peak - $10 per pass
August 24 through November 25
December 1 through December 19

Universal Express Plus Pass Sales Locations:

**Universal Express Plus passes are limited. Locations may sell out at any time.
- Destination Universal Desks
- Universal Parks and Resorts Vacations (407-363-8000 x option 3)
- UO Online Ticket Store
- In-Park

* Each Universal Express Plus Pass is valid for one (1) entry per Universal Express accessible attraction, per one (1) guest. Children under 3 do not need a Universal Express Plus pass to accompany parent/guardian with pass.
** Each Universal Express pass is valid for one (1) day for one (1) theme park. Guests may purchase an additional Universal Express Plus pass for the alternate theme park if they choose.

We stayed at the Royal Pacific this past winter,,and the FOTL thing was amazing, we rode so many things over and over again. It's one of the reasons I booked a few days there for the kids on this upcoming trip. If you get an 'Entertainment' book,, appareantly you can get great discounts for rooms,, as low as $110. per night. It's something to look into anyway.

Hi everyone:wave:

We are planning on spending 2 days at IOA and US next August.
We spent 2 days there before, with our 2 DDs but it wasn't such a busy time (previously it was in May).

On our next visit my DDs will be aged 8 and 10. Do you think we will need more than 2 days with the parks being busier and more crowded and also with having to take more rests due to the heat?

Can you tell I am a little paranoid about the August climate and crowds???

Maybe three days to be sure or just repeat some rides that you enjoyed at Universal or I.O.A.

I am getting a 5 day pass so I will not be rushed and can take my time and not worry about lines (that much) but I have the time to fit in 5 days there and 7 days at WDW. If time is a problem then 2 days would be fine.

Yeah ****els

think you maybe right about getting 3 day pass instead of 2. Its not much more money really, so better get that.

Can't be doing with my DDs telling me off if we're rushing around on a 2 day pass!

If you are going to order at least a 2 day pass to Universal/IOA, check out their website.

You can get a 5 day pass for the price of a 2 day pass. It's internet sale only. That's what we bought for the upcoming trip.

Last year, DH and myself decided to go to IOA for the day during our stay at Disney. It was late August, and we were able to see the whole park in one day - and even some shows. We had a blast!

We did one day at Universal and one day at IOA. I think it was the day we spent at IOA that they were setting up for the fright night. I really wanted to go it would have been amazing. Anyways...I think your kids will love IOA if they are into thrill rides. Esp the Hulk ride. Thats just amazing! If they go on it make sure they que for the normal seats not the front seat. The normal seats que goes so much quicker! Dueling Dragons is unbeliavable aswell!! We managed to do both in two days and also saw most of the shows aswell :)
