Hi, I understand that you can purchase books of express passes for US, as it seems they are limiting the amount of express passes that are issued by the machines.

Please could you tell me:

Are they worth the $15 (do you have to add tax)?
Do they cover all the rides in the park?
Can you use them at IOA?

Thanks.

They are now $20.00 for adults, and you get a card that is swiped, rather than a book. Apparently can use it once an hour, and you can't use it on the same attraction twice. But that would be ok, cos you have alot of ground to cover anyway, it guarentees you to get to use it on each attraction once anyway.

from Universal's website:

Universal Express Plus Pass -Universal StudosŪ

When you purchase a Universal Express PLUS Pass you can enjoy express access to each Universal Express(sm) attraction at Islands of Adventure, with a single pass!

- No pre-determined ride times so you can conveniently access a ride or attraction when you choose!

- No need to pick up additional passes for each attraction. One single pass is all you need!

- Limit one (1) time only per attraction using the Universal Express queue.

Please note that the Universal Express Plus Pass can only be purchased in conjunction with a regular priced theme park admission.

adults $20.00

no mention of a different price for children tho.

Also, you have to purchase one for each park seperatly.

to be honest,, I think it's cheaper for a family to just stay onsite, and use their room key for unlimited front of the line access.

I have seen where people are paying about $125 a night or so at the Royal Pacific Resort, using various discounts, entertainment book, universal fan club, Loew's card, etc.

i think its a bit of a rip off to charge you an extra $20 for a fast pass after you have paid to get in........

I agree - it's not fair for theme parks to charge you for extra features like this ... as if the guests haven't spent enough on the tickets themselves.

Do Universal still offer their normal Express Pass system or is FOTL access only available to hotel guests and those who buy the Express Plus Pass?

Does anyone know if you have to have one of these tickets for kiddies, is there a kiddies price or like most other things they are the same as adults even through they are only 6.

I know they seem a lot, but if if means you are not having to queue too much, in Augusut, in the heat, then I`m seriously thinking that they could be worth it.

If you have already got your tickets can you not buy them?

Do you know if you can use them with the 2 Park Annual Power Pass or are there only certain tickets they go with.

Sorry if I`m confusing you, I`m seriously confusing myself at the moment, just having one of those days where I`ve left my brain somewhere else.

Any more info you can help me with would be most appreciated.

Thanks

I was under the impression that the Express Pass system was still up and running.

We are going in Aug and staying at the Royal Pacific because of the FOTL access. That is a magnificent benefit IMO.

At universal they still have free passes from machine as does Disney the booklet is an extra option which can be used with any type of ticket I am sure that I read somewhere that Universal are cutting the number of free passes available by up to 65% so u have to get to the express machine pretty early before they are all gone:)

I tried to buy these on line yesterday. You have to choose the exact date you will be visiting. There is no child price quoted only adults. We have got annual passes already. The system would not let me complete the sale unless I bought regular priced tickets at the same time. Needless to say I exited.

Children`s prices are the same as the adults. That`s a swiz if you have to put the date in you are going, plans change sometimes. Maybe we won`t bother after all, I don`t want to be tied that much.

you have to buy tickets along with, you can't have tickets and then buy the card later on? That's the dumbest thing i've ever heard, and really messes up anyone who discovers this after buying their actual tickets and could really use it.

all i can add is lets hope disney dont follow suit, we all pay enough to visit the theme parks.........i think here in the UK Alton Towers is now charging an extra fee so you get a fast pass.......if we dont pay it then they will scrap it

It sounds like it is basically a money making scheme for IOA and defently doesn't seem worth it.

What I am doing is getting 5 day pass so I will have plenty of time to see everything and do everything without rushing.
