We stayed there a few years ago (about 6 I think). It's absolutely lovely. Right by the turnstiles for the park, very similar to GF but perhaps not quite so grand. Turn down service every night, character breakfasts (can't remember who the characters were). It was my GD's introduction to MM and while France still can't do it like USA it was a lovely first time visit.

We love The Disneyland, it's our favourite hotel in the world, they have spoilt us !
IMHO it's even better than the GF because it is much more 'intimate' having so few rooms. It is nothing like going to Florida, but as long as you don't compare the 2 you'll love it.
I will try to post my trip report from our May visit. We are going for New Year, then in May and also October to make up for no Florida trip next year.
If you have any particular questions just ask:D

We never stayed in the DLP Hotel but it looked really grand! You're gonna love DLP, we have been there twice and loved every minute of it!

You'll love The Disneyland Hotel!!!!! :bounce: Great decor and brilliant staff!
If you can afford it I recommend pushing the boat out and book Castle Club! Breakfast is much quieter in a seperate dining room (we never had to wait to be seated), complimentary afternoon tea with lovely cakes and pastries, bigger rooms and the best thing of all, a private lift taking you directly to the turnstiles! The whole experience from beginning to end is wonderful, with the staff doing everything they can to make your stay first class. Our room overlooked the gardens at the front of the hotel and whilst I was a little disappointed at the beginning not to get a park view room I soon began to enjoy watching as people arrived and left the park (still the best 'people watching spot' I know!). It really is a lovely hotel and the only place we will stay now when we return to DLP!

Ditto what Claire said, Castle Club is well worth the extra!
There was no afternoon tea when we went though? They must have heard i was coming and knew their budget wouldn't stretch :D
Up until a few months ago, you had to book a character breakfast and pay extra. Now, the characters are outside the breakfast rooms all morning so everyone can meet them and have photographs/autographs etc. They change every 15 minutes or so and there are 4 or 5 out at a time. At the character dinner they still come to the tables.
There is no special turnstile but you walk out of the hotel revolving door immediately to the general turnstiles. The castle club has the lift as Claire said but even then, you gotta queue to go through the turnstiles. Not many rooms have a park view, you have to pay extra for those, but you may be lucky.
Hotel restaurants are fab! We also like Cinderellas in the park but ask to be seated in the main room (not the annexe room). The Blue Lagoon restaurant tables are inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and the food is supposed to be very good, but i'm not a big fish fan and didn't fancy anything on the menu. We will try it in December though as I always regret not trying it when we get home. It's another of my excuses to go back. ;)
I can't wait to get back for New Year :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Hi there - wow you lucky things!! Weve stayed a few times at the Disneyland Hotel and loved it. Never got to look over park as 'normal' rooms overlook grassed areas but nice nonetheless. Found that wed never be able to afford to eat in the restaurants as they were very very expensive but the breakfast each morning (included) was very good. We felt a bit under-posh walking around the hotel in our casual clothes and couldnt quite get our heads round the Germans and Italians who walked around in their dressing gowns provided by the hotel.
One of the best things about staying here is that you dont have far to walk to come 'home' and when youve got children its a definate bonus - just smile a smug smile at all those other people who have to queue for the bus to their respective hotels!!! We did!!
Only thing I personally found hard was they turn down your bed for you in the evenings - not good when as a newbie to the hotel I was sitting on the chair in the room in just my fluffy socks when the nice young man came in to turn the sheets down!!! Not sure who was more surprised! Or the fact that they left small hard sweets for us on the bed and my youngest son ran over, jumped on the bed and lodged one of the blessed things in his ear!!!

LOL Windbag! I have been caught out several times by the turn-down service  Last time I was trying to jump into my jeans and felt like I had 3 left legs! I'm sure they only tap once ~ very quietly ~ before they come in.
I know what you mean about the walking round in bathrobe thing. I thought it was a bit weird at first, but you get used to it!
The boiled sweeets have been replaced by chocolate coins so it's safe for you to return! They are 'Captain Hook's Treasure' according to my 2 ~ they think Tinkerbell steals a couple from him every night, especially for them ;)
I can't wait to go again.................:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

sounds lovely, thanks for the warning about the turn down service as I will more than likely be nursing my youngest DS and could be rather exposed!
Eldest DS will definately love the treasure, well into POTC and Peter Pan

Got back from the Disneyland Hotel just over a week ago :)
Pure magic - our room was on the top floor overlooking the studio ears and in the evening the music from main street wafted through the opwn window. Beautiful room, lovely decor with the Hyacinth hippo's in the bathroom and the Tink doorhandles!
Our DS absolutely loved it - sat in the window on his potty going
' wow we in disey land '
My only gripe is magnificent that the buffet was and magic with all the characters - I think it gave me food poisoning - have been off work for the last week - think I may write to them about that!
