will a 3 day ticket be enough for universal with young kids or should i go for a 4 park flex ticket. Is wet and wild open in Jan?
we will definatly be going back to seaworld and of course WDW. Is Gatorland worth the journey? and has anyone been to Kennedy space center will the kids get bored?

Three days at Universal is plenty with kids that age. Yes, Wet & Wild will be open in January regardless of outside temperature. I personally think Gatorland is worth a trip to see. Will only take half a day to see everything but it's cool to see something that's not overblown promotion - oh and the gators are cool too. Um, Kennedy - I think the kids would get bored. I'm going by all the bored kids I saw last time I was there.

We went to Gatorland and Kennedy when DD was around 4 and DS was around 10 - Kennedy was boring for both kids (was surprised DS didn't like it more) and Gatorland was a hit with both.

We also VERY much enjoyed Butterfly World. Agree with Dawn that Gatorland took a half day.

How far away is Fort Lauderdale from Orlando?

Thanks for posting about the site Mickeymac. It is certainly something different to do.

that's an easy questions :D. It generally takes me between 3-4 hours to drive up (a lot depends on the Palm Beach County traffic)
The easiest way to go is turnpike South (the toll is 10.90 with an additional $.75 later)

If you need directions directly to butterfly world let me know... i think its on Copans right?

I *think* it's on Sample road, and it's on the northern edge of Ft. Lauderdale. There is also a HUGE HUGE HUGE flea market near it, too. That was totally eye opening... some of the junk they sold there... (and some great deals, too)

We loved it there - have loads of great memories of the kids covered in butterflies.

your right, its off sample, just west of the turnpike. Just east of the turnpike is the Festival Fleamarket Mall which is what MickeyMac is referring to.... if your going at Christmas time, the park across from Butterfly World is all done up with a very cool drive through light desplay

My 5 year old did not care for Butterfly World, and she loves bugs. I would consider the Dixie Stampede dinner show. I have not been to the one in Florida, but have been to the one in Branson 3 times. My daughter loves it. Vince Bruce does the pre-show at Branson, I don't know if he travels to the other locations or not; but my family just loves this show. Have taken several clients to see it as well.
