hello
I am currently planning a wedding with my fiance in Disney for 3/28/04. We are going to be having our ceremony at the Wedding Pavillion and our reception at the Living Sea's Lounge. Right now we will probally have about 80 people attending.
Can anyone out there that has planned a wedding in disney give us some advice? The majority of our family is behind us but my father-in-law is giving us so many headaches that we are waiting to long to go down to taste food, ect. We are going the first week of December and to us that is plenty of time - 4 months - do you agree?? We have a wonderful coordinator that has been talking with us and giving advice here and there. Her name is Laura Kidd. Has anyone worked with her before? I am sorry if I am asking so many questions at once, I have just been so excited about this and now with my father-in-law to be I am extremely nervous.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!

Hi there,

Congratulations!

We had our wedding at the wedding pavilion last December... the most important thing is to lock your date with your co-ordinator. Make sure the wedding pavilion is booked etc.

After that, choices of food etc? 4 months is *PLENTY* of time. WDW is so used to doing weddings, that it just won't be a problem at all.

There's not much advice to give because your co-ordinator will work through all the options with you.

I would recommend you do the Magic Kingdom photos? That's where they take you to MK before it officially opens... you get to basically open it just for yourselves <G> and the feeling as you get driven there and the lights turn on in the park just for you... well it's amazing. You get photographs taken in and around the castle and things. It's another chance to wear your dress too :)

If you want to ask anything feel free! I had hassle over the wedding location from ALL the in-laws side of things and I told them it was our day and they could just get over it already. I'm very glad I did too and it was an amazing day.

You'll have a fantastic time!!!!!

How exciting to be planning a wedding at WDW. :hearts: Remember it's YOUR day - don't worry about what anyone else thinks. For others who sympathise with you, check out the thread that Dawn started about in-laws! :D

Good luck with your planning.

Redkop should be along shortly with more advice...

Do a search for KeithOP's trip report that features his wedding. It is absolutely wonderful. You could print it off and share it with your family and allay some of their concerns.

Only the best to you. Planning is fun, but it helps when families are cooperative! :ears:

I appreciate all the advice!!!! I will print out the report and pass it along to family. :bounce: I know that I am just sooooo excited about getting married at Disney and I want everything to work out.
Since we are getting married on a sunday 3/28/04, we are planning a weekend full of events for our family and friends

Has anyone had a tea party experience that they could share? We are also going to have an illuminations desert party on saturday night 3/27/04 in the lower uk. Any experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated

Thank you all for being such a great help so far!!!!
