Pick me, pick me!

I went to the Shamu show many times earlier this year and I loved it. Does anyone know how they choose the lucky people who sit at the side of the pool and actually get to touch the whales? Have any of you actually been lucky enough to do this?

Only 64 more weeks before our next trip to Orlando!!!!

for shamu i thing you have to be aged under 5 as that seems to be the way they pick them.........or be the stupidist person who wants to get really very very very wet..........for all other disney shows i have been picked for i scream as loudly as possible and jump up and down.............it works sometimes :D

DH got picked to be a 'team leader' at Nick Studios - just by looking like he wanted NOT to be picked. They dressed him up as Jimmy Neutron and he had to play silly games with the kids. I nearly split my sides laughing!!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

My wife and I were at Sea World a number of years ago and we went on the "Trainer for a Day" tour. The last part of the tour was access to the priority seating area at the nighttime Shamu show which is the roped off area of seats in the front centre of the audience next to where the whales come out of the water. According to our trainer that day it was only kids from this priority seated area who would get picked to go out on Shamus' back and get their photo taken. So going on one of the special tours might increase your chances of a "close encounter". It may be worth checking with the staff at the tour desk at the front of the park to see if they can help.
