The Unofficial Guide always rate this highly, particularly for a nice relaxing break from the parks. I believe it said its about 90mins drive north of Orlando.

We went here about 14 years ago, it was fairly good. The glass bottomed boat was good, but the safari trip was a bit boring.
There wasn't a great deal there and it was a fairly long drive. We enjoyed the Manetee sanctuary at Homassa (?) Springs on the gulf coast and Alexander and Juniper springs more.

We agree with Kickstart about Homosassa etc - (DD adopted DH a manatee for his 50th birthday) Silver Springs is OK, very pleasant and a less frantic change from the big Parks. Worth a trip if you want to look at some more of Florida
