Would love to do Discovery Cove but having problems justifying price for what is essentially 30 mins max swim.
I have read about other places in Florida where you get a better experience at a reduced cost.
Can anyone let me know where these are,the costs and what the experience was like?????????
Thanks

Here are a couple of links to other dolphin swim experiences for you to look at

I was in the same frame of mind. We did Discovery Cove last year and I absolutely loved it. Remember there are lots of other things to do after your dolphin swim. We were in the water for six and a half hours - it was brilliant. Have you been to the Discovery Cove website and had a wander around? I have decided to go back again this year.

Thanks for the help.
Key Largo seems a bit of a trek in a car for my daughters.
Have looked at DC site and it does look good but with 5 people that amounts to a lot of money that could be spent elsewhere?????????
Still confused with this dilemma!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anymore comments welcome!

How old are your daughters - there is an age restriction of 6 years old for the actual dolphin swim. Does everyone want to do the swim - if not, you save about $100 per person.

We went to Discovery Cove in December and it was well worth the money. I agree it was a little expensive, you do get your lunch (there is a choice and we all thought it was very nice, even the kids) and a free photo. There were two separate families and they gave us four photos, one of us all together and one of each family. As the others have said it does include 7 days at Sea World.
If you can afford it, it is a must do there is so much there - opt for a morning swim the dolphins are more fun.

Well, here goes.............I'm going to book DC for DH and 2 DDs

To keep the cost down DS and I will spend the day at IOA.
Now, what date to book. There's availability the whole of our first week. I thought i had read that weekends were busier. Whats the best weekday to choose? I know there's a maximum each day, anyway, but it might just help me make a decision if anyone knows the least busy day?

It is expensive but personally i think its well worth the money, as you say you do get the extra entry to Seaworld as well.
I think its just the swimming with Dolphins, its such an amazing experience, you wouldn't necessarily get anywhere else.
It isn't very long but well worth the time spent. There is also snorkling and a lazy river, a hot pool too.
Definately worth it in my experience. :D

I did discovery cove in 2002 and had an absolute blast. Many other places are not as safe and the treatment of the dolphins is questionable.

your first day at Seaworld counts as your first day out of the seven. You can go before your dolphin swim or after. The seven days run consecutively.
You also have the option of 7 days at Busch Gardens - or paying an extra $30 for 14 days of SW and BG combined.
Does that all make sense to you:)

it is still worth the money even if you only go on day one, then maybe day seven to split the park - I love SW and we went three times while there for 2 weeks last year:clap:
