Hey all. First time back to the boards in like a year. I use to be a moderator but didnt have the time to keep involved. But wanted to ask Neal a question about DL Paris...
My wife and I went this past Halloween for our five-year anniversary. We found it a bit disappointing. Dont get me wrong, we loved the experience of being in Paris and visiting the DL Paris park. But after visiting WDW Florida several times, it was a big let down. The rides are more high-tech but the Disney atmosphere just wasn't there. Neal, what were you thoughts?
Any thanks for the posting of the photos. Some of mine didnt come out, which was strange cause I have a very good digital camera and I was checking each photo after I took it. Oh well...

I agree - Florida & California have a much better atmosphere than DLP, and thats mostly down to the staff. Last year we went in December and we only came across one person who was a bit rude. This time it was hard to find anyone working there who wasn't miserable!!
One thing DLP does have over the other parks is its actually a nicer park, the space mountain is fantastic, Indiana Jones is MUCH better than the DL version and the queues are non-existant!!

I agree. The rides are better and the park isn't as crowded. But a cool fact I heard according to travel sources. At first DL Paris was reject by Europeans. But now the park gets more guests than the Eiffel Tower. And as you said, their Space Mountain was very cool and Indiana Jones was fun too. But even the Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder Mountain were updated compared to the states. That's the one advantage they have being a newer park.
But we also saw that the overall cleanliness and specifics weren't there... i.e. things that needed painting, repaired, or replaced. WDW and DL do a great job of keeping everything kept. The grass is kept, everything is freshly painted, if something is broke the immediately replace it. It sick to say, but we took a photo of a big mound of horse poop that was picked up off the ground and thrown in the grass three feet away. SICK! And yes, the Parisian attitude is reflected at DL Paris. Here in the states, everyone is so happy to work at the Disney parks. There, it seems like an inconvenience. There were a few nice people but not many. We missed the WDW smiling faces so we’re trying to schedule a trip for next month. I can say that Europe loves Halloween. We spent four days in London before going to Paris and London really did up Halloween especially the London Dungeon (kind of their forte anyways). But DL Paris went overboard. It was very cool. A huge pumpkin in front of the castle. The streets were dressed up. I have many Halloween photos. I just need to find a way to post. What did you use for your site? Anything special?
Thanks Neal

Just go to www.fotopic.net and register - it's free and they give you 250mb of space for your photos. All you do is upload your photos and thats all there is to it.
Your albums are completely customisable, and best of all they can print them out for you very cheapily as normal photos or on tshirts or mugs.
I highly recommend them!!

Great pics Neal - and I thought I took a lot of pictures:lol: Especially like the night time 'silhouette' type ones of the castle which I happen to love as it is such a pretty castle. The Casey Jnr ones are funny as well we took ones exactly like that when we went:ears:

Michael - your pictures were great as well :ears:
I also too a sneaky look at your Windsor Castle pictures as well as I live very close to Windsor and it's nice to see it through a visitors eyes. I love Windsor and we go there regularly and my kids never tire of watching the changing of the guard, although I've never actually gone inside the castle - a few years ago you could go into the grounds for free and just pay to visit the State apartments and the Dolls House etc and I keep saying that we must take the children into the castle but you never end up visiting the places that are actually on your doorstep:)

Thanks. As much as I liked London, I liked Windsor more! That is a great city and the castle is amazing. A must for anyone. I can't wait to return and visit some of the other cities and castles in England.

I must disagree.
Disneyland Paris is commented on for its cleanliness, even by regular WDW visitors I might add.
Also in the other Disney parks, the employees are told to smile lots (trust me on this), in Paris they're told to smile if they wish. Nothing false there.
Also note that in low season the staff may be interns, so they might not be the best quality.
But in general I've found the clenliness of Disneyland Paris to be wonderful, the people to be friendly, and the show and atmosphere to be high (Disneyland Paris has some of the most detail and decor of all of the parks, Main St is its forte), and it feels very nice to be there.
I've been to DLR too, and Id say that DLP is just as good, but with more detail and show, no worries there.
Sorry to offend, but I defend Disneyland Paris, I dont like to see people having a go at it, comparing it to the other parks which have quadruple the amount of staff, and budget.
