Today, while I was looking for a prom dress @ David's Bridal I stumbled across my DREAM wedding dress!!! And it got me to planning my wedding :)
If not married, or even if you are, What would be your DREAM WEDDING @ WDW?? (Realistic or not!)
Well, the theme of my wedding would be a variety of things. All the clothes would be 20's style -- like pin striped suits with the hats and my old fashioned wedding dress I found ( :) ). The ceremony would be in front of the castle and the Fairy Godmother would be the justice of the peace! (hey, it can happen!) and all my favorite Disney characters would be there!! Jasmine, Aladdin, Cinderella, Prince Charming, Aurora, Phillip, Jaq, Gus, Lilo, Stitch, etc, etc. The reception would be at Cinderella's Royal Table with a huge cake with periwinkle blue icing and at the top of the cake a Coach with Cinderella and Prince Charming in it. I would have a Frank Sinatra cover band and dance to "So this is love"
Ahh, beautiful!! Anyone wanna come??
  :(

I think it would have to be AKL! we would renew our vows at sunset - with People in bright african costumes and wonderful singing, then martinis around the fire - for the reception - they would clear the lobby and have everyone eat in there- a combination of Jiko and Boma's food

Without a doubt at Disney's wedding pavilion.
Would arrive in Cinderella's coach.
Mickey and Minnie would be there, and Fairy Godmother.
Would walk down the aisle to 'Once Upon a Dream' from Sleeping Beauty.
Would step outside pavilion to watch Wishes going off in the distance.
Not sure where reception would be, maybe at Grand Floridian or Cindy's Royal Table, with lots of family and friends there. Dancing the night away to 'So This is Love', 'Can you Feel the Love Tonight'... http://209.197.232.101/forums/images/smilies2004/tango.gif
(hen night at Pleasure Island)

In front of the castle. I'd sweep down to wear Adrian was waiting and we'd be married in front of Mickey and Minnie. If Goofy could officiate that would be cool. The guests would be dressed in Great Gatsby style costumes - topped off with Mickey and Minnie ears. The lady that sings Promise would serenade us after our vows had been taken, then we would climb into a horse-drawn carriage for a tour of the Magic Kingdom. Then we would climb into our private monorail with all our guests and head for a reception at 1900 Park Fare - so the littlies get to have some fun too.
We had Can You Feel The Love Tonight as our first dance at our reception already but we could do that again, then we would be entertained by the Festival of the Lion King performers, the Dapper Dans, and Chip and Dale would help pass out the cake to our guests.
Who's coming then? :)

Well I'm in a soppy mood today so I'd have to say I wouldn't change a thing :D
Just the two of us... Disney wedding pavilon, reception at grand floridian as the sun was setting.... limo ride to celebration and photos in the "snow".. then back for a wonderful meal at v&a before returning to the wilderness lodge with the fantastic christmas decorations and a choir singing christmas songs by the christmas tree.
<sigh> I wanna do it all again... wonder if one year is long enough to renew vows

my dream wedding would have been in front of the Kop but angela said no :nono: :tut:
So it would be wedding renewal in front of the castle, with Mickey and Minnie and all my friends on these here boards, and then all off to Chef Mickeys for some napping twirling and then on Pleasure Island to party the nigth away, though making sure joanne doesnt drop any drinks there

Disney Wedding Pavilion.
Me in a beautiful ballroom wedding gown in that silvery white colour.
Sean in his Navy Dress Blues.
as he slips the ring on my hand it turns out to be a hidden mickey in Diamonds!
Yep I do the same for him!
I want the glass coach and the whole 9 yards.
Reception would be in the apartment in Cindy's (or Sleeping Beauty's if at Disneyland) Castle. Standing out on the balcony watching the fireworks as I throw rose petals out to the crowd....

Mine would have to be, the disney wedding pavilion, at sunset.... with fairy lights twinkling all around, me in a fairy tale dress with elegant wings, my bridesmaids in gorgeous amathyst coloured dresses also with wings, my boyfriend dressed like prince charming (I can dream) and then after we take our vowes a glitter cannon goes off, and little pieces of silver glitter flutter down like fairy dust, as we climb into Cinderellas carrige and ride around MK before joining our guests at 1900. that would be heaven.

well following the stuff in my thread "help please"
from not expecting to get married till next year some time
plans are now afoot
not too sure about where possibly GF wedding chaple
heather all poshed up possibly wit hsome flowers some where on her wheel chair , she would just throw them if we put them in her hand
oliver in a real smart little suit with a button hole flower if we could get him to leave it in
following keiths advise phots in GF
and on to a reception for just mandy me and the kids some where nice and secluded in the Grand floridean and then to stay in the GF and a room in the main building , a resort i have always wanted to stay in but have never been able to afford,
perhaps only one night at the GF but even that one night i am sure would be so exciting ,and after all we have the villa all booked and paid for just down the road to go back to after that .
i did not fancy getting married with just us 4 but after chatting on here i find that a few of the misguided souls who are in WDW at the same time are willing to act as rent a mob and come and throw insults at us and to be honest that just about makes it perfect.
oh one thing i missed off i would just love to have Mickey there , think we can possibly run to that but think he will have to leave minnie at home lol
i am normally the tight one but for this i want everything to be just right , but i think if i go too mad mandy will just so forgetthe whole thing !!!
a very simple service would be nice , this is my 3rd timee and mandys 2nd so no big dresses , any way i still say they dont suit me !!,
thats about it i think , it would be nice to just watch the fireworks from the GF but i dont know iff they have them every night .
oh yes one more thing it would be great the next day to spend a day in WDW waking round with those mickey / minnie wedding ears lol yep you are right folks i am 51 going on 15 !!!
thanks for getting this far in my ramble

Well, we were planning to throw confetti, but I'm sure can find some insults from somewhere to throw :hehe:
If you look at the park hours from last year, it will give you an idea of what nights they run Wishes fireworks. On a night when they're having MVMCP you're almost guaranteed fireworks (weather permitting of course).

GF is between £600-£1000 a night. We are staying in PortOrleans Riverside and have upgraded to their best room for a total of £120 a night. So the prices really range.

Bec, have you tried booking with WDW direct, prices at the GF start around $339 per night for the room and other discounts may be available. You may also find you can get PO for around $150 per night!

The same thing happened to us, we booked our wedding through British Airways holidays and paid around £7000 for 18 nights at the GF!!! It is much cheaper to book direct with Disney!

July 18th, 2004, 14:24
wow that is serious cash
does anyone know what accomadation they offer you as part of the standard intimate wedding package
it says 4 nights if that is a moderate resort i had rather hoped they may let me barter it for just one night in the GF
we are already in the CBR for the first week of our holiday and at a private villa for the next 3 weeks this is all paid for already so really we are paying for something we already have
also we will be anual pass holders by then so i think there are some discounts for those sometimes
but staying at the GF has always been a dream of mine and even for just one night would make it very special for me
we are still waiting for disney weddings to get back to us , i let the message on friday when trhey said they were away for the day and then its the weekend and i suppose they are closed then so if they have not got back by evening uk time monday i will call them again
thanks for the advise everyone
one more question
those who have stayed at the GF is it good
for this special occasion i am sort of expecting a quite nice room and decent service

For a room at the GF in value season (your December dates) it will be around $400, then the AP rate is *around* 30% discount so you're looking at somewhere in the region of $280 to $300 if the AP rates are available Steve. Much less than £600
Slowhand swears by the GF. I have been for meals etc. and love the feel of the place, but never stayed there yet. Hopefully we will stay there in December, but we're booked at The Poly for now. :D

thanks paula
it is not esential to stay there but i think one of those little touches that makes the whole thing complete
a bit like having mickey at the service (lol) still working on mandy for that one

When there are discounts available, POFQ or POR is only around $77-87 :)

We love the GF, the only disadvantage is having to leave!! I think it is well worth the money, the location is fantastic and the rooms are soo beautiful!!! Even if you can stay just one night you will LOVE it!

Steve, tell me exactly what they said to you about it being an AP discount.
You see AP discount for then hasn't been released ,if it is at all, yet. So it couldn't have been applied to your room.
When (and if) it is you may be able to get a better rate.
joanne
July 20th, 2004, 12:31
Steve, rack rate, without tax is $339. Add tax and that probably works out at $377, so you haven't got any discount at all.
As WQ says, AP rates for that time haven't yet been released. Hopefully will be soon if there are going to be any :)

July 20th, 2004, 17:18
ive been cheated !
would ap discount be applied to an exisiting booking ?
if so how would i do it please.
you were spot on with the rate
thanks

Don't panic Steve! :Panic:
Any future discounts that may be released (AP or otherwise) can very easily be applied to your existing booking
Just watch out on here and someone will post as soon as any such discounts become available. Then just ring up and see if they have the discount available at the time you;re there, then ask them to apply it to your reservation :D
Keith
July 20th, 2004, 17:26
Don't worry Steve! soon as the AP rates come out, you can't fail to notice around here ;-) just phone up and have it applied to your booking.
You do have to watch the disney wedding people :( as I said, they really really are prone to "saying" things which aren't always ermmmm absolutely strictly accurate shall we say. (but they always sound very truthful and plausible on the phone).
