I was wondering if everyone else has completed their 2004 bookings, yet?

When/where are you going this year?

We`re still undecided.
At present we`re thinking of banking them to use in our next use year so that we can have another mega vacation at WDW including a cruise and a long stay at the GF.

ukwdwnut,
Some Timeshares sell a week at a resort and some sell floating points. The Disney Vacation Club is on the point system. The way it works is one purchases a certain number of points (this is flexible, too, with certain minimums). Then, each year the owner receives that number of points to use towards a vacation. The nice thing about the points system is that you are not locked into a set week or specific unit each year, it is completely flexible.

Disney publishes a chart which tells how many points each night will cost. The member calls up member services and books the desired unit. Owners can make bookings up to 11 months in advance at their home resort and at other DVC propertires up to 7 months in advance.

There are so many choices, it is difficult to decide what to do! :)

Depends upon where you purchase your "contract" from. I don't know the current rate for points for a DVC purchased directly from WDW, but I think it's somewhere around $82-4 dollars or so? DC will know for sure.

If you purchase resale, you can get the points cheaper, but WDW reserves the right to buy back any contract first. That keeps the points from dropping too low in cost.

Points are then expended by making reservations at the DVC (or exchange) of your choice. The amount needed for any stay is dependent upon where you want to stay (some DVC's require more points) in what type accomodation (studios require the least points, grand villas the most) and what time of year (there are 'seasons' and points required fluctuate with those seasons).

It really makes for a very flexible system. The points can be used all over the world, literally.

I considered selling my DVC once I moved so close to WDW, but have decided not to, simply because I can use those points in so many other places. But you know what? I've yet to use them outside WDW/Vero Beach! :hehe:

We're definitly going to Vero for a week in June but not sure exactly when as I'm waiting for AP rates to come out for that time so we can book our days at WDW in a non DVC resort first. Then we will use the remainder for a stay in October or early NOvember. Probably at BWV in the fall as we've never stayed there.

I've never attempted to spell it before.

We all love to fish off the beach (surf cast) and I'm hoping that this would be a great place to try it.....Other than that by that time we should be ready to just kick back for a few days.

I've never stayed at HHI but from a WDW/VEro Beach trip last year we decided to get off & check it out. Didn't realize how far it was from the exit. Didn't know where it was so I called the number on my DVC card & was informed they were full & that I would not be allowed to go inside as they have a gate in which you have to insert your key to get in. I thought that stunk as I am a dvc member & should be allowed to check out a place I may want to stop in the future. As soon as I clicked end on my cell phone there it was! Didn't need his stinkin' directions after all. We pull in & a car in front of us inserts his card & the arm is up forever so we just go on through! No one there to stop us. So we got out & checked the place out. It is beautiful. I dont' think I'd like having to catch a boat to the beach. Too many times I forget something important like water or sunscreen. Can't imagine catching a boat back! The pool area was just ok I thought. Seemed a little cramped. The whole resort had that cramped feeling I thought. I don't know what else there is to do there but there seems to be LOTS of shopping which would be right up my alley!! For us though I think Vero Beach is more to our liking. Even though there isn't really any big attractions close, just more shopping
