Disney Dollars

Hello to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been away from the boards a lot lately, but I've been very busy ( new job & stuff).

We are DVC members and recently received 3 letters in the mail thanking us for referring 3 different families to DVC. If they all join, we have the option of receiving Disney Dollars as a bonus (up to approx. $1,0000) or credit on our dues.

I was wondering if Disney Dollars can be used to buy park tickets. It may be an option for our next trip.

It is my understanding that Disney dollars can be used to purchase anything while at WDW. So, if you purchased the tickets once you arrived here, you should be ok.

Sounds like you've really been busy! Not only with work but with referrals.

They can also be used at ANY of the Disney stores worldwide, so if you are wanting to get the tickets beforehand you would just need to pop into one

Hmmm, I got a letter for a referel I did but it mentioned nothing of disney dollars. Is this just because of the number of referels you did? Just curious.

The notice I got was what I think, a general advertisement. The referral letters came separately.

We sold our points this year to 2 separate people and they both received info. Also, a friend of ours requested info, site unseen. It just so happens that this all happened at the same time. I'm just trying to decide, if all of them join, how I would use the credit given to me.

Some states (like Virginia, for example ) do not permit any referal bonuses. Do you know if WV allows them?

Oh, I didn't know that. I have no idea if WV allows them or not. Maybe that's why. I know when we joined a lady I met at WDW was such an influence on my joining that I put her name down as my referel. She lives in GA I believe (I've forgotten now). But when we talked one time after I joined she said all she got was a thank you letter. I thought she'd get something for it & she didn't.

We made a referral to my uncle when we got back last July...he bought in September or October...They aren't giving us credit because my uncle had toured the previous December. MY arguement is that he wasn't interested when he saw the tour! He joined because we did and we are going to be planning trips for our families together (we are pretty close in age).

We are still negotiating with Member services on giving us something.

The last thing we received in the mail gave all these incentives and did NOT say that the person could not have seen the place or viewed it previously.

We will see...my dh has been playing telephone tag with the Member services guy.

I think you can buy anything at Disney with the Disney Dollars.
