What do you prefer - Swan or Dolphin?

Won a trip and my husband just wants to go the two of us - 4nights. We've already planned a family vacation in August with the kids (9 & 7). Is it selfish of us to go it alone before August?

Prize is for Swan and Dolphin.

check out the offical website for both, this may help a little.

Congrats!!:birthday:

I dont think it is selfish at all since you have a trip planned with the kiddos later as well. All parents need a refresher trip and it would be so romantic just the two of you! I would love to do this!!

go and enjoy yourselves!!

The Swan gets my vote. The hotel is quieter than the Dolphin and all the rooms are already fully refurbed. The Swan cost more to stay at, but if someone else is paying, take The Swan! I am counting the days til we go there in July!

Joanne has a wealth of information about the hotels here (http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/swdo.html)

I agree with the Swan.

I stayed there in December and really enjoyed it.

On the other hand the pool is closer to the Dolphin side if that is important to you

I would agree with the Swan also, I haven't stayed there in fact I will be staying at the Dolphin in April. My husband and I couldn't make our minds up either for the swan or dolphin but eventually decided on the dolphin since it was about 10 or15 dollars cheaper. I would next time choose the swan because of the heavenly beds and the remodled rooms I keep hearing about.
Have fun and no you aren't being selfish going w/out the kids. When my kids are a little older I would love to go with dh alone for a few days. Besides your taking them in August anyways. Have a romantic and fun time!

the dolphin has been renovating too and almost done with all the rooms, which have the same beds as the swan!

Sher,Congrats!I am happy for you but wish it were me!As far as it being selfish to go first without the kids, look at is as a research trip....As much as I love my DD,I would jump at the chance to go somewhere besides the super market without her!Have fun and be romantic...your trip in August will be radically different.By the way,do you know where I can find a resort map of Star Island on line?I found one or the Fairfeild side but we are in the other (as per recomendations). We are booked in unit 1121,but that means nothing to me.....thanks,Janet

This is no longer the case as of mid February. Because the Dolphin is almost all done with the renovations, the price is now the same at either resort

Just got back from staying at the Dolphin and it was truley wonderful. The resorts lobby is beautiful. The beds were so soft and comfortable. I will be staying at the dolphin again in the future.

Congrats on winning a trip!
We like the Swan but I'm sure the Dolphin would be wonderful too.

My husband and I have considered going w/out our children too. There is so much to do for adults that we aren't able to do with them.
In the past, we have brought grandparents but that isn't always possible.
Many adults go alone. Try not to feel guilty (however, I would too  ), you and your husband deserve alone time and you will be bringing your children next trip.

Have a "magical" time!
