Hi all,

ok I know nothing, less than nothing.. :) about dlp.

I went once on a coach trip (and know I'm not doing that again) but Helen has an unexpected week off and fancies going to see dlp.

I don't even know where to start but...
1) is it better (as Im convinced it is for WDW) to book flights and room seperate rather than using something like expedia or a travel agent?

2) I hear people talk about castle club or something?

3) where's a nice place to stay?

4) Is it really easy to get from the airport to the parks/hotels?

5) anything else you want to tell me ;-)

I'm kinda worried that there may not be a week's worth of fun there from what I briefly saw last time so am half thinking of just doing mon->wed or mon-> thur...

Appreciate any and all advice.

Thanks All!

I can help......carry your luggage!!!:D

Paula will be along in a minute, she and TP will know the answers!

Can I, sort of, hang around coz I've got to take the kidlets to DLP to make up for me running off to WDW!!!!

I was looking at flying to Charles de Gaule (cheap) and picking up the shuttle to DLP. Getting room and tickets from Official DLP site!

I'm here!! :hehe:

Okay i'll try to answer each question.

We always book direct with DLP. If you do book Castle Club that isn't available to book buy any other means, you have to speak to the suite department. We then book the tunnel ourselves on the net (I guess you would book flights direct ~ Easyjet from Liverpool?!). I have the DLP direct brochure here with prices if you have specific dates :D

The Castle Club is located on the 3rd and 4th floor of the Disneyland Hotel. Basically, it's concierge with a private breakfast room and they also do a fabulous 'free' afternoon tea. All soft drinks are free in the lounge (which overlooks the train station and the castle in the distance) You have a key card that gives you access to the floors. There is also a private lift down to the turnstiles that again can only be called down with your keycard. All CC rooms have a park view or a view of Fantasia Gardens/Diney Village/The Studios. You are welcomed with a bottle of Tatti on ice (yes it's free!), fresh roses and Belgian chocs with Tinkerbells on them! The concierge desk can change currency, book tables for you etc. They really are a fantastic bunch.

There is a shuttle bus between CDG and the hotels :)
We do 4 or 5 nights usually ~ that's plenty of time in the parks and a free day to shop or go into Paris. Day trips can be arranged onsite or you can jump on a train and do it yourself. (Eurostar station is onsite) :D

The one thing I would say is ....... it's not WDW! But you knew that. People say there isn't the magic and I have to agree, but we treat it as a luxury break more than anything. Some of the rides are actually better than at WDW. Phantom Manor for example is better than HM imho!

Anything you can thing of just shout ~ I won't go on forever ~ but I could

Thanks, sweetie!!:D

EasyJet have flights for Oct. 21 at £6.99 there and £6.19 back(+taxes) from Luton!!! I think I have to *drive* the plane myself!!! I'm a woman, I can do that!!!!

I've got to placate these kids some way before I go to WDW!!!!! They prefer WDW, but they're happy if anything has Disney stamped across it!!

Do you have an idea when the 2004/2005 brochure comes out, Paula?

I think the autumn/winter brochure comes out around June Queenie.

You used to be able to get a quote online, but I see they changed the website  You can fill in the dates and they will email you a quote back, no hard sell. The 4 for 3 offers are great so are the upgrade hotel offers.

:rotfl: I'm just teasing dear PaulaK. I think they'd be worse for the wear being mailed all that way.

You could snap a photo of them next time though! That'd be even better since I'm not supposed to be eating sugared chocolate anyway. :(

I've only been to DLP once, and it was only 6 months after my first visit to WDW.......so sue me :)
Anyway, I booked the flights myself which I found very easy. Then I printed off a whole range of possibilities from the DLP website, some really good deals actually. Was about to book Newport Bay Lake view online, but just went to the travel agent on the offchance (the same who got us a great deal at WDW). Anyway, she beat it and I booked it with her.
Newport Bay is lovely, lake view is definately worth it as well.
Few tips though, book, book, book! We had nowhere to go for dinner one night as everywhere was booked, and DLP is in the middle of nowhere, we ended up with a Kit-Kat from the hotel shop (I kid you not!). Also, book your breakfasts as well, well in advance, otherwise you'll get a rediculous time.......or no time at all!
Hope this help!
