went to DL resort 3rd april - 8th april. The fast pass was a joke.We arrived at the park a 10:15 every day .when we went to get a fass pass it would be for 4-5 pm so we left it.we would que for the ride 40-50 minutes and the fasspass would be up 9-10 pm when got off the ride.
maybe it was just the easter break but i've never seen this problem in WDW

it happens at WDW also. There are only a particular number of passes per time slot so as people get them, the later the slot is for... I was at MGM in March and at 10:30 a.m. the FP time for TOT was 8:00 p.m. - stand by was 60 min

i've seen it happen at busy times in WDW too Easter and christmas especially, when it's busy the parks open at 8am so by 10.15 they would have been open over 2 hrs:(
at busy times it pays to be there early - i hate mornings so this is horrible for me but it seems it's the only way to do it

nyck,
I was at DL last year the week before Easter. It was busy, but the Friday before Easter was especially crazy!

PaulaK,
Yes they did! (They also closed the AK that same day) We saw the sign board out at around 11am on Monday--both parks closed!
We were at WDW 4-8 Apr this year and did not get an early start to the parks (except for 1 day). I think we arrived around 10:30am at MGM on the 6th, the return time for Rock N Roller coaster was 2:30pm.
The longest wait time I've ever seen at WDW was on 12/31/03 around mid-day Test Track 240 mins and all FPes were long gone.

Nyck, hope that this did not spoil your time there? We are usually early risers so will try to get there by 8.30 - 9.00 am. I have 'lurked' on Laughing Place I think or MouseInfo for more overall info on DL and one member has posted a fastpass strategy for most efficient use of the fastpass machines has anyone used it?

Relishy,
(I'm not sure about the FP touring plan but, )
Last year, we tried out those multiple FP tickets (Now you can only get these through packages sold by AAA).
My sister's family had Annual Passes... We compared experiences. We didn't find a huge advantage to our passes until the Friday before Easter when the crowds were so crazy.
One of the reasons is that there are several "unlinked" attractions at DL, so they could get FPes for the HM, POTC and IASW (and I think Star Tours, too). These were in addition to the FPes for the linked rides.
The Matterhorn doesn't have a FP, so you have to go on that first thing. The major rides that I would want to use FP for first thing would be Indiana Jones, Splash MTN and BTMRR (if they are allowing them). Then, fill in with Autotopia and WTP (Although once on that ride was enough for me, really).
Over at DCA--the ride most in danger of running out of FPes is Soaring over CA. The other rides I though FP was most worthwhile was California Screaming and Mulhulland Madness. We didn't really find we needed FPes at the Millionaire, Muppets or ITTBAB (They were big shows--loaded lots of people and you can get in on the standby lines).
When we were there, they also handed out FPes for the Aladdin show--so, that was a freebee, too. (I've heard no more FPes for that show, though :()
