Immediately.

That said, Disney's reservations systems are down for a scheduled maintenance until 1pm today. I kinda forgot to mention that, then realized JM and DC would be dialing for dollars and came back to ammend the post.

MM,
Hee hee hee..  (Who me?)

I was wondering if there is any advantage to booking on-line versus over the phone (ie--I am trying to remember, but I "think" my Disneyland tickets purchased on-line didn't have S & H added on...)
I am so incredibly cheap that I would actually wait to book my tickets on-line if I thought I could save $3.00... :)

MM,
I went over to the WDW and plugged in some regular tickets and there was a $3.00 mailing charge, so I am going to assume it is the same for the special event tickets.... (and I am so anxious to get those tickets, too). So, I am going to order over the phone. I will just order more tickets and make up for in volume...

Well, well - MNSSHP & MVMCP.

So very many letters. I'm so confused.

I've got to find my way back to the HFTVVVN - Home For The Very, Very, Very Nervous.

PS No, wait, I got it - Mickey's Not So SSSScary Halloween Party.

PS On a different topic: I'm in trouble with my girlfriend (a fabulous person).
She was saying that I don't need to always be so terribly tolerant of other people and their traits, as standards have to be kept.
She said "For example, what would you say if you encountered a green three-headed lady in the queue at Space Mountain, Vic?"
I replied that I would say "Hello, Hello, hello!"

tajainaz
May 1st, 2004, 21:08
DC, I ordered my MVMCP ticket online last year and they did charge $3 for shipping.

For those planning on the UOG meet in December, 2004, do you think we should revive the MVMCP thread with updated information or wait a bit? While I had planned to order my ticket much later, the resort bookings have me a wee bit spooked (as in don't wait too long for the first week in December!). Perhaps we should reach a concensus for the UOG date soon, so those who want to order tickets can.

DC, I'm still up for going with you on December 5th, regardless of the UOG date (which could be before I arrive, as well)!

Last year we went the 1st friday in October and just bought the tickets a few days before!!! Do you recommend buying them now or just waiting til we get there again ?

Mickeymac
May 2nd, 2004, 14:18
Jockey, you can wait, but you stand the risk of them selling out. The resorts are quite a bit fuller now than they usually are, with a lot of travelers in October, November, and December. If you know you want to go, I suggest getting tickets when you can, rather than wait until you get there.

Disney has also *reportedly* lowered the number of ticket sales due to disgruntled guest response. I think they won't sell out overnight, but we could see the number of sold out night increase this year.

MystikPiglit

Thanks, DC. I'll probably book both December 2nd and 5th MVMCP in the next week or so. I'm quite comfortable doing things on my own, but sometimes it's nice to be with others who share the same interests. And Disney is our common bond!

It's going to be a busy few days!

I'm a little confused. Can no one enter MK on the days of MVMCP unless they have a ticket to that specific event? Is it an all-day thing? wdwgrandma
May 14th, 2004, 16:43
Believe it or not, we never get it all done in one evening! Between shows, parades, and riding our favorite attractions, we've been known to miss the fireworks, etc. So, for us, yes it is worth it! And I know of several others who will be attending twice this year!

There are photo locations listed on the map that you will receive when you arrive. Go to any of them for your photo. We've had our photo taken over by Buzz Lightyear, in IASW, in the Alien Encounter area, etc. Check your map and choose!

wdwgrandma
May 14th, 2004, 16:46
Also, if you want to purchase any of the special merchandise that is sold ONLY during the party, you will want to get it as soon as you get to the party. If you are staying onsite, have it sent back to your room. Otherwise, have it sent to the front of the park for pick up on the way out.

Stuff sells out! Our first year we decided to wait until we were on our way out and all the T-shirts in hubby's size were gone. There are also special holiday pins sold during the party that are only available then.

MystikPiglit
May 14th, 2004, 16:51
Ooh, is there special merchandise on sale at Mnsshp too? :)

*D*

wdwgrandma
May 14th, 2004, 16:54
Oh, yeah! And dummy me, I didn't buy the really cool picture frame I wanted. Several kind folks from this site checked for me when they attended, but no luck! I have pretty much discovered that if there is something you REALLY want, buy it right then! For example, one year we saw the neatest Mickey candy canes at the candy shop on Main Street. I went back a day or two later to buy them. Gone. None.

Back to your question - they will have pins, T-shirts, etc. But they are ONLY sold during the party!

MystikPiglit

Woohoo - better take a BIG bag then...........

The MVMCP 2002 photos look very much like 2003, wdwgrandma! I wasn't able to get any good shots of the parade--I'm relatively short and the gentleman next to me (very tall and large) kept sticking his arm out to shoot everything. I finally had to politely ask him if he would please move his arm occasionally so I could snap a few shots. He did--but immediately forgot again!

There are several shows, Candyman, and all I really did last year was watch shows, parades and fireworks! Oh, and I burned my tongue on two cups of hot cocoa! :hehe:

Country Bear Jamboree (not my favorite attraction!) had a special programme and was decked out for the holidays throughout the season (not just MVMCP). I actually enjoyed the holiday show!

You'll probably be there long enough to decide if you want to go a second time after you've attended MVMCP on December 2nd. Last year they did not sell out all of the nights toward mid-month in advance. No guarantees for this year, of course. Tourism in general is supposed to be stronger this year, and the bookings at the Disney resorts preceding Thanksgiving and through the first week of December apparently have been quite brisk. I booked my December 11th ticket in late October, just to be safe!

I think you and your family are going to have a wonderful time!

one thing "strange" about me , lol there are lots really but this is just one of them , is that in general i dont like the rides

i do like iasw, dumbo , pirates, buzz, winnie, and great movie ride but not the mountains or anything fast or roller coasters

so when we visit mvmcp i do not expect to go on any rides

the thing i love about wdw is basically just being there and people watching and the shows and parades

oh and character meetings there is not way , even at 51 years old , i could visit wdw without having my picture taken with mickey -- and eeyore too he's my favourite.

I received my tickets! :bounce: (There is just something about actually getting the tickets in hand to make it all seem real. ) I was getting worried because I hadn't received them as of May 13th (I'm not exactly sure when they arrived because I have been out of town for a few days, but when I came home they were there waiting for me!! )

Candy, at least this trip you've a chance to make it up with MVMCP!

DC, DS refused to dress up and kept saying he was going as a "Disaffected teen" and DH as a 'tacky tourist' (who was following Joanne around all night butchering the British language pretending to be a 'Tacky British Tourist')

By the end of the night, DD kept missaying DS' name, so he became the 'Disinfected Teen' I don't know why, but he howls with laughter over this.

Cool! You're so lucky to live on the east coast. It's a little more practical than flying across country!

I'll be ordering my MVMCP tickets for December 2nd and December 5th around the end of the month. It will feel just a bit more real when they arrive!

Taja,
I know what you mean (Monday, I just returned from a weekend in Seattle --wonderful trip, but I am so jet lagged! :) )
But then, I was just thinking about how lucky you are to be so close to Disneyland! :)

The only problem is that in grew up in the Los Angeles area and I never manage to visit Disneyland because of all the people I'm expected to see each trip!

You know how it is with family and friends--you can't leave anyone out or someone will be offended!

Leu and I have talked about just heading to Disneyland for the weekend when I fly in--just once--so I actually get there. It hasn't worked yet, as I have some seriously ill relatives and I always want to see them when I'm there--just in case! They all hold special places in my life and heart, so I enjoy being with them.

Hmmmmm.... Maybe......

Just a little tip for everyone ordering tickets, you can use the 800# for everything. 1-800-828-0228. It's the walt disney travel co.(vacation packages)#, but you can make reservations, order tickets, or just what ever you need to ask. :D

A reminder to those attending MVMCP, if you are in the park before the party begins (used regular ticket media to get in), you will have to forfeit your party ticket to get your wrist band.

If you use your party ticket to go in through the gates, you will get that ticket back - just like you get your AP or your hopper back.

This is only important if you want to save that ticket for your scrapbook!

MystikPiglit
May 25th, 2004, 17:09
Does that mean I will have to give up my cute Minnie pass (Mnsshp) ?:( I want to keep it for my scrapbook...

I guess this depends on where you are and who is giving the wristband. I was in the park before the start and they didn't keep my ticket.

We attended MVMCP 2 nights last time and the first night we were in the park up at the hub where they were doling out wrist bands, and they made us give them the ticket in order to receive the wrist band. I tried to object, but it didn't work... Something about only being able to prove head count by the number of cards through the turnstile or turned in... The second night we left the park and came back in through the gates so we could keep our card.

I can't seem to find them available on Disney's website, although I've been told that they have sold them there. I always call Disney to purchase mine, so I have no experience with ordering online.

No, I doubt that the parties are sold out yet.

If you're buying on-line from the UK, when it asks which country you live in leave it on US. You'll still be able to put in a UK address at the end.

WQ
Yes, it is very confusing the way they do that. The link above is already past the point where the web site first asks which country you are from (the default US was selected to get to the link :) ) and the link takes you right to the ticket/ special event ticket menu (in US dollars).
