"Brand-new bridge
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park has opened a wonderful new pathway that connects Asia to the DinoLand U.S.A.area. The bridge offers a spectacular new vantage point of The Tree of Life and incredible, up-close views of the continuing construction of Expedition EVEREST, scheduled to open in 2006. Be sure to note two new buildings along the path—an 'unfinished' trekkers hotel and an old trekkers inn. Just the sort of structures travelers might discover while hiking the Himalayas."

I can't wait to check this out!

Ak is my second fave Disney park so we will check out this new bridge in December - and have a peak at the construction of the new Everest attraction. :)

Do you know AK is my absolute favourite after MK. I just love this place, there is so much going on that you don't realise just how big it is. Not so many rides but really interesting and Tuskers does the most fantastic cinammon buns

Not many people seem to like AK but I loved it. so much more space and a really nice atmosphere, maybe it was all the trees - I think I'm a hippy on the quiet:D

Id say its my favourite park, MK was too crowded for me, I just got irritated with everyone!!!

Me too, Alison. I really enjoy it there. Get a tad bit righteously indignant when someone spouts off against it, too... LOL!

Cool. I'd heard about this bridge being built. It's cool to hear it's finally done. I just can't believe it's going to take until 2006 for Everest to be done...that seems like an awful long time to build a ride... :waiting:

Any idea when in 2006 Everest will be ready?

Got to walk on this bridge last weekend! It's still very fresh (a little rough around the edges), but it's going to be fantastic, and authentic of course! There's a great view of the everest construction from the bridge, too! From my vantage point, I could see some of the track that's been erected already -- I just stood there and imagined myself riding on those same tracks in a couple of years! Very cool!

...had several CM's say April when asked when Everest would be opening...

Funny...I actually took this path while we were there last week...without knowing it was new...I just kept wondering how I'd ever missed it!!! It's quite lovely actually...

We were told that too. The monorail driver on our Grand Tour  told us they would be making an announcement at the end of the month. We shall see....

I believe so yes. It is over by Tarzan Rocks.

I wish they wouldn't put pictures of real animals on their park map. It ruins the artwork of the map.
