I am thinking of taking my DH to DLP for his 40th birthday (with DD's as well). We have been to Orlando twice and I am afraid that it will be a disappointment after this (after all nothing can compare to WDW but really can't afford it again so soon - we only came back mid Feb).
Can anybody tell me if it is worth going to DLP and if so the best way to travel and where to stay (again we have a problem as there are 5 of us so it is limited) and where the best place to book is - before when going to WDW I have done this independently but wouldn't know where to start with this!!

Any help appreciated - DH birthday is next year but I would like to price it up asap and look into all options - you never know it might work out as cheap to go back to Florida!!!!!!

I really love Disneyland Paris, but I've never been to Orlando. People say that it's bigger and more beautyfull than the Magic Kingdom.

A nice link about DLP: http://homepages.which.net/~ian/home.html
and another nice link including some great tips for UK residents: http://www.disneyparis.org.uk/
A DLP foodguide: http://www.dlpfoodguide.com/

You want to go with 5 people? If you go by train then you can better stay in a Hotel in Ile-de france. THen it's between 50 and 200 euro's per room per night.

http://fodors.com/rants/rrpropselect.cfm?class=HOTELS@20003&destination=ile_de_france@231

then it's only one or two stops if you take the train (RER)

If you go by car and want to share a cabin (for 6 persons) AND you want the Disneyexperience, you can stay in the Davey Crockett ranch (it's a Disney hotel but it's 3 miles from the park). The prices per person per night are: between 67 (low season) and 130 euro's (hi season). These prices are for 1 night and includes 2 days of admission to both Disneyland Resort Parcs.

But you can also go to the hotel Santa Fé. The prices for hotel Santa Fé are between 69 and 136 euro's per person per night. But they only have 4-person rooms. Hotel Santa Fé is a Disneyland Paris Hotel so you can stay in that hotel, if you have traveled by train.

You can always visit the Disneyland Paris site: http://www.disneylandparis.co.uk and order a brochure.

If you have anymore questions about DLP you can always ask.

We went to DLP after holidaying at WDW twice and it was fine :) Granted it is not a patch on WDW but IMHO it is still miles better than anything we have here in the UK. I only had a couple of gripes being mainly the cleanliness (which is not that bad just not WDW standard) and some of the CM's (and guests) were quite surly. The other problem I had was with the shows being in a mixture of languages - and I can quite appreciate that it is in France so you can't blame them for using French but when the shows were a mixture it gets pretty hard to keep up
That said we did still have a great time and I would go back :D We stayed at Sequoia Loge which was lovely :)
Go for it I say

We've been to DLP 3 times and enjoyed it each time. We have booked direct with www.intofrance.co.uk (http://www.intofrance.co.uk) whose prices are much cheaper than brochures. Last year we booked direct with DLP and got an even better deal - just give them a ring and see what they've got.

We have also been to WDW once. Comparing the 2, there is obviously more to see/do in US but in general the DLP rides are better than their US equivalents eg Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain etc. We've never had a problem with the language but I am afraid that the manners of the French guests sometimes dont live up to US/UK standards. Having said that, I thouroughly recommend DLP.
