Reminiscing about past holidays.

Last night DH and I were chatting about past holidays when the conversation came round to a park we visited in 1988 but have heard nothing of since. I vaguely remember a wooden rollercoaster and some amusement arcade type places and what appeared to be the entire population of Japan wandering about. I remember the name as something like Boardwalk and Baseball or something very similar. Does anyone know what happened to it? And can someone tell us where it was because on the day we visited we found it purely by accident!

You may be talking about Baseball World, which used to be Circus World. It was a cute little park on I-4 about 45 minutes from Disney, about half way to Tampa (Busch Gardens). They had a lot of older attractions usually found at carnivals or state fairs. When it was Circus World they had live shows all day long under the big top. When it was Baseball World, it depended on the season what you got. Just before or during Spring Training, when all the players were in Florida, they had a lot of autograph signing from the players, and collectibles. Other times of the year it was mostly memorabilia and collectibles.
BTW, both are out of business.

I was going to say Circus World

We visited in 1986... and really liked it... it was small enough that my parents let me wander off without my 25 secret service agents :lol: :lol: .... ok.. without my mom :)

I really enjoyed a Circus tent were you were able to try your luck at the trapeze and wire walking...

And a large wooden coaster, another red one with one giant loop, something that seemed like Aladdins magic carpet... but it was very very big... and some sort of viking ship that went all the way around....

Am I making any sense??... wow.. that was 1986.....

Isn't it strange how I don't remember any reference to a Circus! Shame that its gone now though. :(

That sounds just the place John. But I'm a little sad that some of these older parks and attractions disappear to be replaced by offices, condos etc.
