When someone votes on a poll, that poll jumps to the top of the new posts list.
Do you want it to continue doing that, or would you rather it didn't show up as a new post?

it gets confusing to find new posts, is there no way there can be a sticky on new posts so that the master index of polls stays at the top or can you just maybe bump it a few times during the week so people are aware of it

Master list of polls is already sticky :)

yeah i saw that on the poll forum but is there no way a sticky can be made when searching new posts, so it always appears on new posts.........probably not and asking the software to do too much. i'll shut up now and go back to sleep

I think it should appear as a new post only if there is a reply not just a vote. :)

We're having a poll about what to do when someone votes on a poll? omg! Kilty... come on man, save us all :)

(Actually... we probably need another poll now because I changed it to NOT jump to the top before I knew we were having ANOTHER poll ... so now we need a poll about whether we should have a poll about what to do with the polls!)

Okay, here's a challenge for the software:

Can a poll be listed as a new post when the poll is started, but not get bumped if someone votes or posts in it? That way we'd all see when a new poll starts, but we wouldn't have to wade through all the poll votes and responses to get to the other threads.

That's what it should be doing now Will, as Keith, being psychic  , knew what most people were going to vote for, and already changed it not to bump when a vote is cast. But it will still show as a new post when it's first created. :D
