Does anyone know if Universal Mediterranea has much for small children.
I've been having a look around on the net and I've found very mixed reviews. Some say its much better than DLP and others say its not.
My boys will be 3 1/2 and 18 months.

Hi
I don't have children, however, I did live in barcelona for 3 years and made frequent visits to Universal mediterranea.

Whilst I am no expert on children I have to say that I think DLP is FAR better for small children - rides and attractions at UM are far more teenager/adult orientated and many, if not most, would be downright scary for young children. Also I think there are far more rides/shows and attractions at DLP anyway - apart from the fact there is two parks. The only plus side of UM is the weather, it is near to the beach and it also has quite a good waterpark - costa caribe.

But overall i'd say DLP without a doubt. Just one further tip - if you stay in a disney hotel avoid the Santa fe - it looks horrid, the hotel cheyenne is only a few quid more and is far nicer

Hope this is of help

my little girl was 9 months when we went, and she had her first taste of rides, especially "its a small world", which is a baby`s dream ride., the thing`s she really loved were the parades, and all the exciting things to look at, disney parks just have that special something that all ages love, all the characters we met made a real fuss of her too :D

We stayed in santa-fe and preferred it to sequoia lodge (where we stayed before), it was a fun hotel!, dont judge a book by its cover, or someone else`s opinion of its cover.

what ever park you do choose, you can always visit the other another time.

Another good park when you have small children is Efteling in Holland. Quite a lot of the park is devoted to fairy tales and other creatures with Dreamflight being the perfect fairy ride for small ones. There are a lot ro rides suitable for little ones and more fierce rides for adults.

We took our (then) 5 year old last Easter and travelled on North Sea Ferries so it was only about an hours drive from Rotterdam for us.

And ofcourse you should visit Madurodam (Holland in miniature proportions), Archeon (Holland in different stages in history, like middelages, prehistoric times etc.), Duinrell (a frog-themed family parc really great in the summer), or visit Blijdorp zoo.

There is so much to do in the Netherlands!
