After Keith's advice Ive looked at this hotel and it looks great.

Being so close to Downtown Disney sounds good too as we like it there.

My quesion is, how easy is it to get to the parks from downtown? Is the transport fairly regular? Do the buses go direct from their to each park, or do we have to change buses etc?

If we are waiting for buses or messing around to get anywhere, my impatient other will get stressed out !!

Ive seen a two centre holiday on the virgin website that looks good. 4 days at the Wyndham and 4 days on Times Square New York (A place on my 'to do' list).

Prices to go early May are £1250 each, late May £1299, September & October they are £1299.

I dont like it too hot so figures these time frames would be good, what about the weather in New York though?

The Downtown Disney hotels share buses to the parks as you can't use The Disney buses (unless your pass allows) and they are pretty regular. They do go via the other hotels on HPB though. :)

Where in New York? Those dates should see fairly mild weather in the city (NYC) and should really throughout the state, but the further north you get (heading to central NY and it's dreaded snow belt) can pose some nasty weather problems.

As Paula has said, you can't take a bus from DTD directly to the parks. You'll have to take a bus to a resort then transfer. Or, be quite familiar with the area and take a bus to say Boardwalk or Beach Club and walk into EPCOT, or MGM Studios. Take a bus to Contemporary and walk to MK, or take the monorail, that sort of thing.

We really really did enjoy the Wyndham.... There's broadband internet access, lovely bars, two great restaurants and the walk to DTD is just across the road.

You can use disney busses by virtue of your park pass not that anyone will ever ask anyway but the lack of a bus to DTD from the parks is a niggle :/

HOWEVER it's a benefit in other ways..... we like to go to the other disney resorts a lot for meals, just for a look etc.... and of course normally there's no bus between resorts, but staying at wyndham, we just walked to dtd, got a bus to any resort and voila :)

There is a bus service shared with the other DTD resorts. In our experience, it was regular (on the dot) and didn't get too full with one exception. After fantasmic one night the first bus got full and we had to wait for the next one.
Paula's right though, the bus took a while to get to the parks because it stopped at the other dtd resorts first... about 5 stops I'd guess.

I would definitely stay there again.

This is a great resort, the location is great.

The restaurant at the top of the tower is incredible (cannot remember the name now). The booths have their own view out and you can almost see the entire Disney property.

A friend stayed there on the 11th or 12th floor with a view to the west. We all stayed in one night having drinks http://www.wdisneyw.com/forums/images/smilies2004/champagne.gif and were able to se all the fireworks across property.

Thats arthurs 27.... there is free champagne in the bar at the top every evening at sunset too :))) no meal needed etc. Just be there.

There are coupons for free main courses at both arthurs 27 and the outback in the entertainment book 2004! Well worth it... we saved 70odd dollars just on those two meals alone.

The entertainment book http://www.entertainment.com/ is a book for a few dollars (and often discounted .. I think I bought mine for about $10 inc delivery) and it has hundreds of vouchers in for all sorts of non-disney stuff. Vouchers for restaurants often give free main courses etc... just loads of things.

I love champagne too, fave drink so I made sure to get upto the top bar every evening <G>

Im sure I stayed at the renaissance once hmmmm.... 4 nights in ny is pretty perfect IMHO. I spent a week there last time and thought it was a bit much (but I've been a few times before)... 10 and 4 sounds like a great split.

Hi there everyone, just a few questions on the Wyndham, has anyone stayed at a 2 bedroomed suite that can sleeps up to 10? is it in the main block or in the annex? can you get a suite that overlooks dtd? As we are buying a 7 day park hopper ticket we could take a bus from dtd to a resort and get to the parks that way? so many questions such a long time till we go back!!! we have been before but stayed at the asmv where everything is laid on for us! (love that place)
 :afraid: :afraid: :overhere:

There is a bus from DTD to the Ticket and Transportation Center. From there you can get to any of the parks.
