Hello. We are saving like mad in the hope we get to go back to Disney. Have perused countless brochures, web sites, compared and despaired!!
I have been in September and October and wanted to go back around that time. However, the prices are more than I remembered so am looking at 2 weeks in November 2005. Having checked all the forums here I see people have differing views over which is best 2 weeks in November to go.
We want warm enough to swim, rain not a problem but rather not have too much, smallish crowds (half hour is fine) and good rates. Is November a good time to go? Are there holidays from school in US at that time? I know people say Thanksgiving time is busy but again, some say going before is ok others say way too busy; and then others say after is good - ho hum!! Any help gratefully listened to. I dont know if I will manage another trip due to finances so want to do it good! Thanks in advance. :)

My entire family was in Disney in November of 2003, it was very nice warm enough to swim, cooler in evenings. We were there just before Thanksgiving. Little to no waits for most rides and attractions. I have a trip planned this year for November 1-8.We had a couple days with afternoon storms, however it might have rained at one park but not another and they never lasted more then 5-10 mins. Us schools usually only have a holiday over the Thanksgiving holiday, at least in PA thats all they have. Hope some or any of this info helps you. :D

I definately think November is a good time to go. We had friends go last November and they said the weather was really nice and the crowds were low because the locals are either at school or working. They enjoyed it so much that they have booked for this November so it must be a good time.

I think the first two weeks in November is one of the very best times to go to WDW. It is cooler in the evenings, of course, so take a sweater.
But don't go at Thanksgiving, because that is very crowded indeed.

Thanks for such fast responses :) It looks like first two weeks are a popular choice so let the planning commence! Of course the alternative would be to go the whole year round but perhaps thats taking it a bit too far

I've done begining of Nov. and end of Nov. I enjoyed both times.
Begining is a bit busy with NJ week, Soap Star Weekend and Conferences and the end is busy the week of ThanksGiving.
Both times we swam, but we're english..what can I say!!
Second week in Nov. Decorations start going up. End of Nov. they're all up.
Beg. Nov. You've just missed MNSSHP. End of Nov. you catch MVMCP.
We had 1 torrential downpour at the begining Nov. 2 days of drizzle end of Nov.
Evenings were cooler end of Nov. 1 was positively cold. Days were pleasant and the pools always had someone in them, even at night.
So, there are my comparisons for you, windbag. Hope they help! :D

Thank you whitequeen - very thorough with regard to weather in November. Now, all I need is to see if you fit in my suitcase to take with me for instant information!

Thanksgiving is November 25th this year
Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday in November, so the date varies each year. You'll need to look up the date for 2005. I don't have a calendar handy!

I would definitely say stay away from Thanksgiving Week. We went last year and it was worse than June and July as far as crowds were concerned. Hope this helps!

I didn't realize there was so much going on the 1st week of November. I knew about the Food & Wine Fest, but not the other stuff. This information was great...thanks to everybody who helped!
