On my most recent visit to Disneyland, I couldn't decide if I should purchase a Premium AP or just go with the 5 day park hopper.
The Premium AP which covers both parks and parking has really gone up in price. It cost $279.00 (the last time I bought a Premium AP, it was right around 200.00). Disney currently has a 5 day park hopper ticket at $129.00 which would also suit our needs (if purchased in advance on-line).
I had to really think about it before I bought because the premium pass costs more that two 5-day park hoppers! DH and DS will not be able to come back to DL within the next 365 days, but I had been thinking about a special trip with just my Mom and myself either this year or next. (If I do it this year, I figure I would kicking myself later on if I didn't buy the AP! :) )
The other reason I went ahead with upgrading my 5 day park hopper to a Premium AP is because at DL, most every place offers a discount. And, in addition during this visit, they were giving out special limited edition pins to Annual Passholders with each $20.00 of food purchase at select restuarants.
The final result was we saved over $100.00 with the discounts and we collected quite a few limited edition pins at the restuarants! (I figure with the pins, we more than broke even with the pass upgrade :) )
Here are some of the discounts that are currently being offered at Disneyland/CA Adventure if you hold a Premium Annual Pass:
Blue Bayou, Carnation Cafe, Ariel's Grotto, The Vineyard Room, Wine Country Trattoria: 15% off.
French Market, Plaza Inn, Rancho del Zocalo, Redd Rockett's Pizza Port, Bountiful Valley Farmers Market, Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill, Pacific Wharf Cafe, PIzza Oom Mow Mow, Taste Pilots' Grill, The Lucky Fortune Cookery and All Theme Park and Hotel merchandise locations*: 10% off.
Disney's PCH Grill, Goofy's Kitchen, Granville's Steakhouse, Hook's Pointe, Storytellers Cafe and Yamabuki: 10% off.
There are varying offers at the different Downtown Disney® District locations. Some offer a percentage off and some offer a free appetizer or a dollar off amount.
*A single $10 transaction required before tax. Not valid in combination with any other discounts or promotions or on purchases of original and limited-edition artwork or selected collectibles. Excludes the following locations: Names Unraveled, Jewel of Orleans, Silhouette Artist, Portrait artists in New Orleans, Parasol cart, Heraldry shop, Crystal shops on Main Street and in New Orleans and Blast cart. Subject to change without notice.
