i am so so happy it has always been a dream to get married in disney . we are getting married at the wedding pavilion --wouldnt be the same anywhere else
we are also having 2 nights in the grand floridean another dream of mine . i did want to stay in the main building but just could not afford that , i got quite a good deal for the hotel, i think ,at only $377 inc tax per night the main building they wanted $690 per night , but she did add that we may get a much cheaper rate if there are rooms availiable in the main building if we ask on check in.
we are also hoping to book mickey to be at the weding --what perfect wedding photos
i am just so excited i just cant even think of sleeping , but mandy gave up ages ago and went to bed --these youngsters cant keep up the pace .
not too sure what she meant but the co ordinator said we were only allowed 8 guests and that included our kids
not sure if that means in the wedding chappel or just at the cake reception
perhaps one of the others that have had a wedding there would know
everyone is welcome but i would hate for anyone to turn up and not be alowed in.
we are so excited about this and it would not have been posible with out all your help
we can never thank you all enough . to have some of you there with us would make it complete
thank you all so much

just go back from a great shopping trip
yep i am one of those strange creatures a man who likes shopping !
but we went out looking for a dress for mandy to get married in not knowing what she wanted
2nd shop we went it she found one she liked and it fitted great too
i have just asked for the correct description
now i would have said
its a fantastic red thing that stops just at the top of her boobs
but the real decription (by mandy) is
its deep red 2 piece floor length of the shoulder
so there you are
still looking for some shoes
we also got heather a pretty red dress
we are trying to decide what colour flowers to have now
can any one tell us what a "pound cake" is also what a "yellow cake" is
these are 2 of the options on the cake choice -- sorry WQ no fruit cake on the list
i am going to buy a suit when we get to florida --large clothes are so much cheaper there and we are not too sure where we can get a smart little suit for oli as he is growing so fast we may wait till we get there for his too so we may need tips on where to look for one there.
so thats the latest up date for you all
just one more thing i have had the confirmation of the date and time from disney so it really is fixed now --WOW

just got to ask them to play the lady in red now !!!
mmmm never heard that on a violin before lol
hey need some advise
we are booking mickey and one of the options is normal or formal attire
i am favouring formal as i have never seen mickey dress ed like that
but as i am only wearing a "normal " suit would it look silly
we are still thinking so any other thoughts on this would help

July 20th, 2004, 18:36

keith that was my thought too
dawn im a man i couldnt be expected to think of that !
paula i dont think we have a choice it only said normal or formal
that is anoth decision made so glad you all recomended what i really wanted
ok now for another question
flowers --there are lots of choices , btw keith she sent me lots of pictures of the choices of the flowers think i remember you saying you did not get that , but no picture of the cake options just a text decription.
flowers as you know mandy is wearing deep red while my dad was a florist and do not have his great knowledge of colour match
what colours would go nice my mum said just white but i remeber that just red and white together is suposed to be unlucky and i dont really fancy that
so any suggestions please
thanks
this is like having one giant panel of wedding co ordinators lol

i am so pleased i chose the same two as joanne
but in the end it is mandys choice on this one
cake photos sorry all i got was this text
3. Included in your Intimate Wedding package is a two-tier wedding cake, white buttercream icing, and a keepsake cake topper. You can select one of the following cake flavors: chocolate, marble, pound, or yellow cake. The filling choices available include: buttercream, chocolate mousse, white chocolate mousse, Bavarian cream, strawberry or raspberry mousse.
but here i sort of have a strong choice as i am very fussy on cake
the filling is almost certainly gonig to be buttercream as i dont like fruit flavours in cake and i am not too keen on chocolate, i did own a sweet shop for 25 years , the sort of cake well as i dont know what some of them are could end up as marble.
but feel free to help us out
but as you have been so successful in helping sofar here is a real problem for you
heather is wearing a red dress
we want her to feel a big part of it and would love her to have some flowers BUT there is no way she would hold anything , she would just either chew it or throw it
we are thinking of maybe some sort of wedding balloon tied to the handles of her wheel chair but that sounds a bit boring
while i was out today i bought some ribbon , 3 different types red , red with gold hearts and whit with red hearts i bought 2 meters of each thinking i could do something with it ---but i dont know what really
so any ideas we are happy to buy flowers if we can think of a way to use them or more ribbon or other bits if needed but heather is very animated and if they were within hands reach she would try to pull them off ,and she has long arms
notice i gave you the easy questions before this one
over to you

How about a wrist corsage? Or a corsage pinned on her dress. I had some quite small ribbon pew ends made for my wedding. Something like that could be attached to her wheelchair quite easily.

July 20th, 2004, 21:49

I think decorating Heather's wheelchair is a lovely idea - you could drape the back of it with tulle or organza with some flowers dotted about that match the bouquet if you can get hold of some :)

ok here you can all have really good laugh at me
what is tulle and organza
i think its some sort of matterial ?
ok could not let you know how thick i was so i looked on google to see what it was
i feel quite thick now
but the idea of draping the back of the chair is good perhaps in a similar colour to the dress or would a contrast look better
and i would have thought we could buy some colour match flowers from publiks and thread them through the matterial so only the heads were showing and possibly also add other decorations . i know that Michaels on the wayto Beltz used to be good, a sort of american Hobby craft , i am sure i could find some nice stuff in there
see showing my femine side again here i love craft stuff , we spent loads in there , i used to do lots of shop window displays (won lots of national prizes) and found lots of good stuff there .

You could also twine flowers in the spokes of the wheels of the chair? Michael's is a great place to go, for all sorts of craft supplies. You shouldn't have a bit of trouble finding things there.

From a photo point of view.... colours that contrast but work together are better than those that merge ;-) a red dress against a red chair background makes less powerful photos. Kinda like the folks who weargreen for wedding photos and then get photos taken with trees/grass as the background. Often ends up looking like a face magically suspended in a field <G>

I like the Hand Tied in cream & yellow, although I personally only like 2 colours together!
Joanne's right a Pound Cake is a Madiera type cake. Yellow Cake is also Sponge.
I'd put Cream Tulle or Organza on Heather's Wheelchair if she's wearing Red, for contrast.
Just my ramblings, steve!
candyman
July 21st, 2004, 11:41
following both tips would it look right if i did cream material to contrast mandys dress and then red flowers to also contrast mandys flowers
would posibly struggle with trimmings in a red colour but there is the ribbon
my mind is working now
steve
lisaw
July 21st, 2004, 13:51
IMHO I would definitely go for cream or white (depending on the colours you choose for the bouquet) as the main colour to decorate the wheelchair and then accent in in red to tie in both dresses
joanne
July 21st, 2004, 14:54
Tulle is a very fine net. Organza is a beautiful sheer (see-through) fabric. You can buy it in the most amazing two-tone colours. Do you have any Indian fabric shops nearby? They sell wonderful sheer fabrics, the sort used for saris.
Maybe Mandy could get a length of Organza (cream), maybe 1-2 metres, just put a small hem either end and use it as a wrap round her shoulders/arms. Heather could then have matching organza draped round the back of her chair.
I'd go for pound cake with the buttercream :)

Hi Candyman

Steve, pound cake is a very rich, dense cake that usually tastes best with fruit toppings. Supposedly, the original cake was made with a pound each of eggs and butter, hence the name. Even allowing for contemporary tastes, it's still very rich and heavy by itself. IMHO, combining that with frosting is the equivalent of swallowing a lead ball! :)
I can't remember all of the options, but I'm with you on the buttercream between layers and as the frosting. I tend to like it best with a dark chocolate cake (don't think it was an option, and not practical for a wedding, in any case), but it should work with marble. I think the yellow cake might be a little too sweet with it (unless it's a lemon flavor, but yellow cake usually is just a basic cake, with the color coming from the egg yolks).
Can't remember the other options.
Just remember it's the wedding of Mr. & Mrs. Candyman, so what you want prevails!

Okay, here's a simple pound cake recipe (actually, appears to be more of a 1/4 lb cake!) if anyone wants to analyze it. All measurements are U.S.
1 cup butter
1.25 cups sugar
4 eggs, separated
1 level teaspoon cream of tartar
.5 cups milk
2.5 cups pastry flower
.5 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
Sift pastry flour combined with baking soda 3 times and set aside.
Cream butter & add sugar gradually, creaming mixture well.
Add egg yolks, then the white to which level teaspoon of cream of tartar has been added, then add milk, followed by flour/baking soda combination.
Bake in a slow oven about 1 hour.
Don't ask me what a slow oven is--the cookbook is from 1934. But it has some of the best basic recipes!
All typos are my own! :D

I'm guessing that your sponge cake is similar to our yellow cake.
Here are the ingredients from a recipe entitled a "sponge cake" in the same cookbook. I won't give you the instructions, just the ingredients for comparison.
4 eggs
1 cup sugar
1.5 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
.75 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
Have fun with your decision! :)

Can't say definitively, Paula, but the top photo has the appearance of pound cake. The color along the pan edge of the cake looks very much like pound cake. It's a very dense cake, and doesn't crumble as easily as regular cakes, if that helps! :hehe:

Who did you book for your officiant Steve?
Ronald Rosenzweig
we looked at all the web sites of the officiants disney offered us --, cant really imagine the local vicar in the uk having a web site with their profile and details of their wedding services can you ---, sorted a couple we liked the look of , as we are not regular church goers we did not want an overly religious or stuffy service , we sent e mails to a couple containing details of our family ,especially explaining that the service could well be interupted a few times if heather is in a very shouty mood and asked if they could cope with that , and we got only one reply from this guy .he said it was no worries about heather joining in and even sent us a complete text of the service with a few extra bits we could put in or take out .
we thought it was a great way to do things we went through it and wanted a few changess wrote back and he ok'd all our changes
pretty good service i think .

we ate in mama melroses and they bought us all a really fantastic assortment of cakes for dessert , some of the ladies mentioned the diet word and the host of the tour gave us all the Disney guarantee--all cakes served anywhere in WDW have the magic ingredient that makes sure they are completely calorie free !!. trouble is no matter how hard we looked we could not find anywhere to buy this special ingredient.

Pound cake really is delicious with fresh berries. Much to rich to combine with frosting, although I have been known to drizzle a bit of dark chocolate glaze on it at times!

ok another update
i went to one of the markets i used to work on
when someone mentioned an indian safi show i rembered that there was a man who sold material there and it was alwaos full of indian ladies buying stuff
so i went today and got this realy nice stuff sort of shinnny a creammy pearl colour hope it will look ok
but if it is not right then we have not lost an arm and a leg , i used to be quite friendly with the seller , so it cost me the grand total of 2 cups of tea from the tea bar !!!!
when i got home i tried it on the wheel chair and found not only does it drape down the back but we can also drap it on the seat so it forms a background behind heather -i think it would look nice like that on the photos
if im wrong we can always tuck it in the back
ill be looking for guidance on the day from keith with this there is nothing like a photographers eye.

it is important to me that heather is as big a part in the wedding as oliver is and he is getting dressed up so she must too .
also it is my sort of thing.
the best part of owning my shop was doing all the window displays and i used to spend ages on little details in those so i am juast rying to think of everything to make the wedding go smooth and hopefully get some great pictures to show everyone at home .
that is also going to be one big problem getting pictures with heather looking in the right direction , as i said she is one independant little lady .

yes we are having them as part of the package
we have found through lots of practice its the "stolen"shots that are best with heather if you try to get her to look she just will not do it
lisa
yes i am having a great time organising the hoiday was great , thanks to the help from here and also the virgin boards , but organising the wedding has been like a dream come true. it was mainly because it was mandys idea , and when you all meet her you will see she is very shy and loves to just go along with everyone elses ideas , so just that bit made it very special to me and also it had to be done so quickly , i have had over a year to sort the holiday , but the wedding has been done , with lots of help from our freinds here , in just a week.
i cant tell you just how excited i am with it all , i wake up at 3 am and just lie there for hours going over all the plans in my head , it is sooooo good .
just like the advert for DLP on the tv when the mum says to the dad "are you asleep yet " and he replys" i cant sleep im so excited "
i just know our night at the gatwick hilton will be great for everyone else but i dont expect too much sleep that night
ok ok yep i am the biggest kid in our family ;)

[QUOTE=tajainaz]It's terrific that you're so involved in the wedding preparations, Steve! Of course, that's my opinion! Mandy may be giving you those "What will he think of next" looks from time to time! :hehe:
i think after 2 years together she hasgiven up on those looks now
and just takes things as they come
we are a good match cause i love planning and mandy thinks if you ignore it something will happen in the end
so she is right because iplan things they do
the hardest bit is trying to get mandy to give opinions ,her favourite reply is "whatever i dont mind ".

Awww, congrats!!!
Just a thought - with the material you are draping over the wheelchair, have you though about maybe sewing on rose buds (dried) or petals to the hem on the bottom? That way Heather can have flowers, but she won't grab at them or try to eat them. I've seen it done before and the effect is beautiful.

we like the idea of this one
the rose petals dried ones ? if so where would we buy these i have never seen them
also the rose buds is even better but once more i have not seen them would some where like hobby craft sell this sort of thing ?

I would think you could pick them up at someplace like Michael's Crafts. Silk petals or rose buds, either one.
joanne
July 27th, 2004, 19:44
Yes, Hobbycraft would sell them. You'd also find them on a haberdashery stall at a market.
Just found dried roses for you -

could never stand to be a dad that did not do things with them
having said that i have had time to practice the wedding lark it is my 3rd time
but i did not do very much of the work for the other 2 but hey they were not worth it like mandy is !!!!
she is such a nice person she deserves the best and that is what i am tryingto sortout for her
one little thing for you to think about here
just imagine you have never flown before , you have never been to america before , you have never been to disney before -- can you imagine how you would feel and then just add on top of all those things that when you do them all for the first time you get a disney wedding thrown in too including mickey !!!
well thats what mandy is getting in november !!! wow

I can't even begin to imagine how fantastic all those things would be on my first trip! I stayed offsite for 3 weeks my first trip and was in total awe for the whole time!

Just made my way through this thread and it sounds like everything is all in place. The fabric and ribbon roses on the wheelchair sound like a great idea. Mandy is going to need a ribbon to hold her to the ground....she will be floating!
Did you ever figure out your cake? I wouldn't be much help here because anything with chocolate and chocolate would be what I would choose!
candyman
August 3rd, 2004, 15:34
still not decided but am getting a little help on this one at the moment
also i did not realise you could chose different musicians
jill had a flautist that sounds quite nice
steve
candyman
August 10th, 2004, 14:41
ok we are getting on a little bit again after a chat with the co ordinator yesterday
unfortunatly the musician now is only a violinist they dont do the flautist now - :(
we have decided that we are gong to have the limo in the evening
so we will now arrive at the wedding chapple in our hire car --well it is more of a mpv i think you call them something different in the states but it is something like a plymouth voyager not quite so good for the photos but i think it will make a nice treat for the evening
also as we are not using the limo for the service we can park the hire car in the "lube"-is this the entrance bit to the chappel didnt like to ask in case i looked stupid.
the flowers are gonig to be a cascade bouquet with cream and deep yellow flowers
the service in the wedding chappel
i did not realise that when you booked a character for the wedding they did not apear at the wedding but at the cake reception afterwords, and only then after the toast has been cleared away as they cannot apear anywhere where there is booze.
so mickey will be at the cake cutting reception in his formal attire
i did ask if a few of you are kind enough to turn up would we be allowed to bring you all to the cake reception with us and she was adamant that we are only allowed 8 guests
mandy and i would love you to be there so perhaps we should sneak you guys in through the back door --i mean there is no way just 10 of us can eat all that cake !!!!!
i am thinking that we will possibly have yellow cake with buttercream filling now.
after the cake stuff i think it would be nice to just laze around the MK for a few hours . as it is my favourite of all parks .mainly because it is just such a happy place .
we will hopfully get some nice photos here as well
and then on to
our wedding night meal in the romantic surroundings  of chef mickeys, i would have prefered victoria and alberts but hey the kids dont want to miss out do they .
after the meal we are being picked up by the limo at 6.30 and are going to celebration to check out the snow on market street , and then on to a tour of WDW basically where the limo driver fancies taking us for a nice evening tour .
well that is the idea , pinched from some ideas keith gave us --thanks keith--
we think we will get great value from the limo hire that way
now another bit where i ask you for some help
as well as celebration any suggestions for locations we could visit on our limo tour --just sight seeing or for a short stroll
i am not too well up on the whole area -i have been down I drive but not many other places .

any one know if there are any AP rates out for the GF in december yet
if we can get a discount i want to try to upgrade our booking to the main building
steve
Keith
August 26th, 2004, 16:14
the discounts were out yesterday including gf.... call the disney reservation line which is 001 407 560 7277 and quote code EWP (or just ask for AP discount). If you use a cheapy uk dialup service you dial the uk number first, like 0870 794 2701, then type the US number and you'll just pay a national rate call.
well worth trying

August 26th, 2004, 18:53
ok so i got through
25 minutes on the call thanks for the cheap number keith
would have cost a fortune without that
the story goes still no AP rates for that date ibn the main building
but for only $21 a night more than we were orig quoted we can get upgraded to consierge in sugar loaf key
that sounded a good deal to me
but they cannot amend my booking
i have to book it on the phone and to try to get my wedding co ordinator to cancel the orig booking
but if for any reason she will not or cannot i can cancel the new booking right up till dec 1 at no charge
does that all sound ok to you lot or have i been mislead in some way
funny thing is i have always had a dream of staying in one of the turret rooms in the GF and i found recently they are all honeymoon rooms and they have one free for our dates
BUT they can only fit in one crib and we need 2 --anyone want to borrow 2 kids for 2 nights lol
no not really as much as i have always wanted to stay in those rooms my kids come first i tried to twist their arms but they quoted fire regulations at me and i knew i was on a looser there .
so wish me luck withthe wedding co ordinator in my heart i just know she will not let me change it but at least i have tried
steve
PaulaK
August 26th, 2004, 19:04
Jo struggled to find us AP rates in any rooms at the GF. We were going to swap, but we could only get a lagoon view for $345 on an AP rate and that was only for a few nights, so we're staying put at the Poly. There's nothing to stop you booking the AP rate and cancelling your original booking if that's what you want, I don't see how your WC could stop you cancelling.

i worked it out thst the extra day there is only about the same cost as a night away here and was too good to miss
after all i always think that mandy works so hard she deserves the best
what acctually made me book the extra night was when i explained what consierge means -- as its not a term we use here -- she seemed really excited about it and when you meet her you will realise she just takes most things as they come
so this meant she realy was pleased with it

I would think you'll be able to find big and tall men's shops to accommodate you, Steve.
The only one I can remember the name of is The Men's Wherehouse (or something like that). It's a national chain, so it's likely there will be one in the Orlando area.
Be sure to find your "outfit" at the beginning of your trip, in case alterations are required. Oli can get away with pants that are too short or long, but you might look a bit odd in the photos! :)

Love the shoe description and story, Steve! Life at your home must be interesting! :)
You described your size in several of your posts. I have a cousin who is 6'6" and several in the 6'4" range--none of them thin--and all have fitting issues with anything other than sweats and very casual clothing from regular stores. I've had lots of practice over the years having them properly fitted for suits at reasonable prices (not cheap--just reasonable!). Be sure to use your own judgment in style, color and fabric, as well as fit. I see a lot of men (and some women) in styles and fabrics that really aren't the best for them, and I sometimes think they select what the person at the store recommends and suspend their own judgment! Of course, I don't know trendy from anything, so who am I to talk?
Since Oli is growing so fast, you probably won't want to invest a fortune in a suit for him. On your first Sunday in Orlando, buy a local Sunday newspaper for the ads (don't worry about reading the paper unless you want to!). Most of the major department stores (Sears, J.C. Penney, Dillards (not sure if they're in Florida), Macy's or Bloomingdales (not sure which chain is in Florida--both are owned by the same company), Nordstrom), as well as the major discount stores (Target, WalMart, K-Mart, etc.) and off price stores such as T.J. Maxx, Ross, Marshall's. That's in addition to locally owned stores and the outlets.
You have to look harder at the off price stores (similar to the outlet stores) to find what you want--and sometimes they don't have it--but if you find it, you can save quite a bit of money! Leu swears by Marshall's. I don't like to shop and haven't bought children's clothing in a very long time, so no first hand experience!

thanks taja
at the age of 51 i would not have a clue what is trendy either
it will be a boring dark suit for me (but a disney tie of course)
i never take advise from the sales staff in clothes shops thats why i take mandy!!!
having spent the majority of my life working in shops , or owning them , i am all too famililar with the maxium "always give the customer what they want --but dont for get to tell them they want the one that you want to sell them "
do wal mart sell suits for 2 year olds ?
they do a range of clothing in the UK but i have not seen any small suits
if i remeber there is a J C Penny in the florida mall so we could go there --i have never been in as i do not usually shop in big department stores but its great to know they sell stuff that we need
thanks for the advise it is great to have help like this because it is hard to know where to look for cloths in a different country
and dont forgetlast timei went the only kid i had was 14 !!
also following your comment yes life is always interesting in our house , fun , silly chaotic but absolutly great too!!
on closer inspection the shoes --yep there are 2 of them --- have a sort of messy panel on the sides they are really nice
great debate in our housenow , advice needed please , (hey this is mandys request not mine )
tights or no tights and if tights what colour
think red dress white shoes , yellow and cream flowers

Mandy's wearing a 2 piece isn't she? Is it long?
For me it would be no tights, especially if the skirt is long. If it's short, maybe she could treat herself (or you could treat her  ) to a St. Tropez spray on tan before you go?!
candyman
September 12th, 2004, 15:29
hi paula no mandy isnt long she is 5 foot 2 lol :rotfl:
yep i know you meant the dress :hehe:
yes it is a a2 piece and it is long ,floor length :marry:
omg i have just re read the bit about the shoes
it should have said
they have a meshy panel oh dear i am in trouble now :hide:
just got a thump because i said in sead of the fake tan i could put her in the oven on a low light for a couple of hours !!!! :sinking:

Translation: if tights = pantyhose (sheer as opposed to opaque), then I would go with sheer skintone tights, as the shoes are likely to uncomfortable without them.
Of course, you could always surprise her with a garter belt (I'm thinking you refer to them as suspenders?) and two pairs of silk stockings (just in case one runs!). Realistically, the tights are much more comfortable!
Oh, and add Mervyn's to Oli's list of places to shop. It's about the same price range as Sears & J.C. Penney. Although they are actually in some malls, they typically tend to be on a perimeter road surrounding the mall in a free-standing building or as part of an open air perimeter strip mall.
I really don't know what you'll find for Oli or where, Steve. Most of what I see in ads for that age seem to be things that look like suits, but are more of a one-piece with a jacket. I know they do make actual suits, but I have a feeling the prices are rather absurd since he probably will wear it only once! Still, you may be lucky and find a really good value!
I haven't shopped for children's clothing in years. Leu's grandchildren have so many clothes that at least half of them are given away without being worn! Great for the recipients, but have no clue what the parents are thinking!

good old disney store
we ordered 2 personalised t shirts
mine arrived within a few days
mandys arrive several weeks later
then guess what another one mandys size arrives a few days after that
we wrote to disney store and told them and asked them to send us the postage and we would send it back --thinknig that the postage cost more than the shirts
they replaied thanking me but saying we could keep the extra shirt with thheir compliments
nice

I am in the no-tights categorie for Mindy. Nice pedicure that way when those shoes start killing her feet she can just take them off and be barefoot. Plus...don't know if anyone has noticed in photos lately....none of the Hollywood types are wearing hose or tights...bare legs are "in".
Wonder how long we can make this thread before we all make it to WDW for our meeting and Steve and Mandy's wedding?

i was going to do a trip report but with a trip
of 30 days including to and from florida do you think it will go on to long to be of interest to anyone ?

It does seem that the boards have been quiet that last few days. Maybe everyone has the back to school blues. Atlanta is starting to get ready for Ivan. It will only be a tropical depression but expecting high winds and much rain. Power will probably be off because of trees down.
As for the trip report....I read each and every installment of the 66 part Jedi Trip report by Dawn. And loved each one. I think you should write it...people don't have to read it if they don't want to...but since part of it will be during my trip....if you write one then maybe I won't have to!
And I check this thread every day to see if I have missed any wedding details!
Do you realize we have like only 2 months till the trip! Getting more excited every day!
If I am not here for a few....we have lost power and my notebook battery died!

nothing much happening here right now 60 days wow not only excited but now the worry starts have i remebered everything the next thing on my countdown calendar is to order heathers milk to be delivered direct to CBR and hope that it gets there ok
asked about paying for the wedding yesterday and the co ordinator said it would be ok to pay when we meet mid novemnber
sent payment for the fantasmic dessert party today so things are getting on now

I have paid for the dessert party as well and am really looking forward to it. Trying to decide what type of jacket to bring with me. Don't know if I will need one.
Steve, you are going to be there about 14 days ahead of us or I would say mail the milk to Mom's address and we would bring it down. If you want to do that with an emergency supply let me know and I will PM Mom's address. We will be driving as it is only about 8 hours.
Will be getting Heather's package in the mail on my next days off!
If you are really worried about the milk. You could mail it to us...I could PM you when we get it....then FedEx to WDW right after you get there...that could be costly though...depending on weight.
Keeping the thread going :)

thanks brenda
we are taking about a weeks suppy and hope that will give us enough time to organise in case of any mess ups so will think it will be ok but it was a very kind thought thanks
our ocupational therapist,OT, has another "client" that did it last year and it worked for them
one if the big problems with carrying it is the size and weight--she has 10 cartons a day and they are the size of a smalll carton of orange juice we worked it out that as there are 27 in a case we would neeed to take about 10 cases of drinks and that is very heavy but then our OT suggested doing it this way .
we think it is a real good service and as she is issued this food on prescription we do not have to pay for the food and even the service to supply in the states is paid for by the national health service which we filnd realy fantastic .
and taking the one weeks supply on the plane we were worried that we may not be able to take much normal baggage but when we spoke to virgin they said it was counted as medical supplies and we could take as much as we needed and it would not count to our bagge allowance , and as we have to take with us about 200 of her special nappies, diapers, and we think they allone will fill one suitacse and then her feeding tubes so anyone in gatwick oe orland airports will know its us because we will be the ones with 2 baggage trollies pilled high a wheel chair and a baby buggie !!!!!
you can see why we will not bring too many clothes but will buy a new wardrobe when we get there !!!!!

Wow that is alot of luggage. I guess the "formula" is not dehydrated. That would be okay but then there would be the Florida water problem. Better this way. So is this stuff something we use in America so you will be able to get it here if you need to?

Just now raining here....but the news has the Florida panhandle and Alabama...they are getting slammed!

September 16th, 2004, 14:25
You might want to bring a back-up prescription for Heather's feeding formula, Steve. You probably won't need it, but better safe...!
It's probably very similar to what is available here, but you're better off using what you know works, and since your insurance covers her supplies and transport of the formula, that's the most economical way to go.
Wow! Two months and you'll be in the magic! :)

sorry brenda missed this mail
the milk is not dehydrated just ready to use
i think as it has so many added ingrediants in and is classed a medical supplies they have to be very carefull how it is mixed
the company that produce it in the uk are an american owned company
and when we spoke to the local suppliers they did not think it would be a problem to get it supplied there , but now i have submitted the request we have to wait for a couple of weeks to get their reply to let us know if there is a problem

If I can get the department (and my mom) to agree to a couple more days would you leave your children with me for a couple hours on the evening of your wedding? Don't know how long Heather can be left but I do have medical background and even if you could just walk hand in hand around the GF would be nice don't you think?

do the staff at the posher hotels expect bigger tips

You don't have to tip Concierge, in fact they aren't supposed to accept tips.
Just tip the guy who helps with luggage, a dollar a bag?
Don't leave anything, in the Villa. They're cleaning it for someone else.

within an hour they had replied and it was all ordered and paid for .
for no reason at all they asked me the names and favourite characters of the children .
after i had replied they sent me a lovely e mail saying that the 2 characters we had chosen were so excited that they were their most favourite and that they plan to leave a little something in the room for them :Pixiedust :Pixiedust wow

my sister is really into the craft stuff and has got us a heart shaped plaque with a picture of mickey and Minnie in the middle and our names on one side the wedding date on the other and WDW at the bottom
it is really great
i rang to thank her it was a really big choice wether to tell her or not
i did not want to upset her but in the end i decided it was the best thing to do and
be honest with her but then how to do it
OK so it went like this
hi Lisa got the present today its really really great
but I'm real sorry but no matter how much i love you i don't think i am able at this stage to change the date of the wedding ........
yes your right she had put the wrong date on the plaque
she had put 4th DEC not he real date 6th
she was upset but we felt she would have been even more so if she found out later and we had not told her
did i do the right thing ?

Depends on your relationship! :)
If it's as warm as your immediate family, she'll be fine. I'd prefer knowing if it were me making the mistake!
It does depend on one's personality, though. An uncle by marriage was determined that my parents were married on one date--it actually was two weeks later! :) He also was the sort who could not stand to be wrong:

i could not avoid telling her , iwould have wanted to know if it was me .
she was upset , but to make it worse our mum who is now 80 and getting very confused had told lisa she was wrong but lisa knowing mum is always getting mixed up told her she was wrong and they had a big argument about it . she now has to go back and say sorry , not something lisa likes doing a lot .i'm just keeping my head down and avoiding mentioning the whole thing .
mum willl not lisa forget for a long time that she was right and lisa was wrong . i just sit back , watch them and smile -thats the joy of being older, and more laid back !!!

my son ben (17) today brought me a cd of special tunes that i wanted for the wedding . when i asked the wedding coordinator if the violinist could play "pop" tunes she suggested i bring a cd incase he couldnt .
i am really touched that he spent such a long time finding the tunes and getting them on to the cd for me
when i was making sure it played ok i must admit to having a tear in my eye.
i want whole new world as the resesional and that was the one that got to me .
we still have not decided on the procesional any tips?

Candyman,
Not long till you all jet off now! I have just read all 23 Pages of the thread! You are an amazing man - planning every little thing to the finest detail. Well done you!
I hope you and your wife to be, and the two children have the most magical time in Orlando, and everything goes to plan.
Me and the wife will be at Disney the 19th - 25th November, staying at ASM - we may bump into you at one of the parks! Hopefully the weather will be ok, still at Disney it doesn't matter what the weatherslike does it?!
Take Care all of you!
