Hi all,

Just a quick question for all those who have got married via Virgin.

As some of you know, we fly off on Sunday 10th October, and get married at Cypress Grove on Wednesday 13th.

We know that the Virgin wedding co-ordinator will meet with us prior to our wedding to finalise everything. I am told this is at Wyndham Spa Hotel (???). We are staying at the Quality Inn International.

Anyway my question is, we cant meet with the co-ordinator on Monday 11th as this is a bank holiday and they arent working. Which means we'll have to meet them on Tues 12th.

Is this cutting it a bit fine? Can we arrange to meet them first thing in the morning at say 9am - we still have to get the licence from the court. Can we dictate the time to them, or do we have to sit in our hotel room waiting for them to contact us?

I have emailed Virgin and they have said not to worry. But I am. There doesnt seem to be a lot of time.

How long does it take to meet with the wedding co-ordinator and what do they go through? Ive already sent back our required list of extras.

Any thoughts etc would be great!

Thanks,

Lorraine

we didnt meet ours till the day before the wedding, everything was fine, she gave us our directions to get to cypress grove, they were dead easy to follow and she told us who the minister would be doing the ceremony, he called us on the morning of the wedding to make sure we were fine, you will be fine seeing her on the tuesday

Thanks Redkop.

Did you have to get to the Wyndham Spa Resort Hotel then? Did Virgin contact you before you travelled, or did they contact you once you were in your hotel?

What if we are out when they call?

Slightly panicking!!

What does the wedding co-ordinator actually do? Will they go through the extras we've ordered like flowers, photos, hairdresser, limo etc?

And how long does this meeting take?

we went to the virgin meet to get the phone number for the person you have to call, that way you can call them :D , yeah they went through everything, ordered mrs redkops silk flowers, mrs redkop did her own hair so we didnt have to worry about that

Ok, so you went to the welcome meeting, got the number, then called the wedding co-ordinators?

And Mrs R. chose silk flowers? Was this with the basic Cypress Grove Package? I'd love to chose silk ones, then I can bring them home. Did this cost extra? I think the basic package cost we have paid is £315. I have ordered an extra posie of flowers for my daughter. I hope we can chose silk! Was this offered or did you ask?

And another quick question - we have booked the four hour limo trip. How long would you say the actual ceremony lasts?

Thank you again!!!

hi sorry been out with mrs R :D, the silk flowers were an extra $80 but it was so she had her flowers to come home with, we didnt get an extra flowers, the ceromony lasted about 30 mins as the kids filmed it for us and did really well, after the cermony finishes you have an hour in the grounds of the house to take pictures and enjoy your cake, i think we stayed for about 20 mins but we had our car and a night at disney booked, so the kids wanted to go there, we made it there special day as well as ours

That sounds really lovely Redkop!

I dont think I'll pay an extra $80 though, we thought we were doing it on the cheap flying off to Orlando and not inviting anyone, but it soons all adds up!

We've got our limo booked for four hours, so it seems we could have a spare hour free after the ceremony to ask the driver to take us for the drive round some parts of Orlando that we wouldnt really see.

Then in the evening we're off to the Pirates Dinner Show!!

I do really like your idea though of staying in a Disney hotel. Can you just book for one night then? Me and my daughter have an early PS at the PSB in EPCOT the day following the wedding, and that would be lovely if we stayed on resort.

We could leave the guys to have breakfast in the hotel while we shoot off to EPCOT.

Do I contact the hotels direct for a "one night rate"? I dont think Virgin would arrange this, would they?

Thanks again, you really really have been a great help.

Hi Lorraine,
Virgin organised just a four night stay in Disney for us, so they may do it especially as you have your wedding booked with them.

we organised our one night stay direct with disney over the net, they had a special offer on, we didnt tell virgin, just locked our stuff away in our hotel room and off to disney we went, it was a really cool night, the guests round the bar enjoyed our wedding cake and the step kids had a great time in the pool
