Good and Bad News

Hi everyone, good and bad news tonight

Fantastic news is I ordered my wedding dress 2day and Im tickled pink with it.:D

Bad news is the disney photographer has contacted me tell me that when we have our Magic Kingdom photo shoot, there may be construction equipment around the castle because of the DL 50yr celebration. The castle will be gold which Im not bothered about at all it's just the equipment. She says they shoot the photos accordingly and disguise the best way they can, but now Im not sure and Im scared:afraid: What do you think? This happened to anyone before?

Just to let you know. We decided to go ahead with the MK photo shoot, my H2B says the photos will still be fab. And the photographer will disguise the equipment the best he can.:rolleyes:

Thanks for the confidence for the photos and yes I'd definately prefer gold to the birthday cake! At least the photos will be different to the normal MK photos!

The Castle is going to be gold?!?! I must have missed that memo! :hehe: Hmmmm....guess I'd better get busy planning my trip to go see it!!

Congrats on the wedding and I too am dying to see the dress! I've yet to need a wedding dress :sigh: so I'll have to settle for looking at other people's!! :lol:

The coordinator tells me that there will be a gold finish on sections of the castle. It's supposed to be stunning. Sounds good to me.:eek:

To be honest Trish I can't wait to see my dress again too!!!! It'll be made ready for fitting in January. I also orderded my veil and they let me bring my tiara home as it was a one off!!!!
My mission now is to by shoes! I always wear flat shoes, so Im looking for a pair of ballerina style pumps/slippers that are WHITE (that's a clue) and they must be SPARKLY!!!!!!
So if you come across anyting on your travels anyone, let me know. I've got to have them by January for the dress fitting.:D :D :D Can you tell how happy Iam. I didn't realise buying a wedding dress was so good for the system!!!:wiggle:

As for your photos - well, how many people can say that they had their wedding pics taken in front of Cinderella's castle? I can't! :cry:

Bec, if you have a dance store close to you, you may be able to get th type of shoes you want in there, or I am sure tey will order them in for you. I'm sure your wedding will be magical, especialy with the castle being gold....

as for the castle
i so envy you
we have splashed out on so much other stuff there is no way we can run to a MK photo shoot
the photographers are really skilled people and it is their job to make your photos perfect and being disney i am sure they will
also as they use digital now they can tweek things in the studio
AND A GOLD CASTLE WOW that is just such a limited thing it makes the photos even more special

DO NOT WORRY its disney it will be prefect
most other wedding venues would not have even bothered to tell you that there is a remote possibility that some work may be near your photo shoot

Steve, you're such a sweetheart, talk about putting my mind at rest. It's shame you're not going to be able to go for the MK photo shoot, they're not that expensive you know.
But, really, you've really calmed me by saying those things so thanks.

And I've ordered shoes! From the US. They are being shipped as we speak (or write!)

Disney are working on the castle form January thru to end of March beginning of April.I should imagins it will be completed by the end of April. Where they will be putting a gold finish on sections on the castle. Hope this helps.

Ooh, what an exciting thread! A gold castle, a princess wedding dress, sparkly shoes!!!

I can't wait to see the castle like that -- it'll be beautiful! And, bec, no worries about the photos. I'm sure the photographers know what they're doing. :thumbs: Congratulations on your planning, dress and shoes! I wore fabulous flat satin ballet slippers for my prom (a million years ago!). They looked gorgeous and I was the only one who wasn't limping by the end of the night because their feet hurt from those awful heels! :)
