Mondo, I did do exactly like I said I was going 2 do, I have pages of my resort already!

for all of u that didn't veiw my last post *glares* you know who u r... lol, my idea is for an american themed resort, with different rooms being modeled after different u.s. states. heres what I got so far...

THE POOL: is shaped like the united states, except that the edges are softend. On the bottom of the pool, there are tiles, different colours for different states. There's another pool shaped like Alaska, this pool is the kids pool, complete witha waterslide down the aulution chain. The whirlpool/hot tub (sp? is there a difference?) are shaped like hawaii. Make sence, lol!

NOW FOR THE NEW STUFF!!:
The Rumour goes...
Washington, the father of the United States, went exploring, and some how ended up in central Florida. Upon arriving, he found a old shack that needed much repair. So, he repaired it, furnished it, and started a garden.
Now few hundred years after Washington's death, Disney bought the property. Sooner or later, Disney discovered the shack, and went exploring with much interest. He found some geniuine stuff, and brought it to the next blue sky meeting. "I found this, along with some other stuff," Walt said, flipping through a journal that he found. He read a clip, then another, explaining how George found, repaired, and planted the land. "This," said Walt. "Is a great oppertunity." The Imagineers quickly thought up idea after idea.
Unfortunetly, this project was interupted by the death of Walt Disney. Interupted until a young Imagineer, Mary AKA Micky ( :D ) went a looking around the area. She saw the shack and the over-grown garden. Hmm she thought, hastening to get back to her office.
Bak at the office, she shared her new knowledge. Some older Imagineers heard rumours about the land, but never had they investigated. Soon, all the Imagineers were a buzz, designing and redesigning. One Imagineer got overly excited and told his friend, a big business owner. Soon the word got out about the resort, and businesses from all over the country were sending in artifacts and clippings. It was padimonium. But eventually it got all organized.
The construction started. Instead of knocking down the shack that Washington had fixed up, they built around it. Making it the first presidental suite that was built by an actual president! They also transplanted the garden to the lobby.
A year and a half later, the resort was finished (well, as finished as anything ever is in Disney). The rooms were beautifully decorated with cultural things. The halls held art and artifacts. The Lobby was home to all Washington's plants, and, as a tribute to his love of agriculture, they put in green carpet, and fat green arm chairs and couches.
THE END

The Lobby
Is pretty hard to explain, but I'll try. The Lobby is shaped like a pentagon, but it has a star like cutout in the middle. Hmm picture it like this, the pentagon is all fountain, then u take some land, that shaped like a star, and place it right on that fountain... I hope that makes sence to you.... Anyways, theres green plants everywhere. In the center of the star is the customer service, check in/check out desk. Its all circular!. On the desk is a replica f the bill of rights, declaration of independece, etc. and in the middle of the desk is a crissed cross boreded thing, that sweet peas, and other various plants crawl up. The lobby's ceiling reaches the top of the buliding, where a star shaped dome, lets light into the room. The railings that keep people from falling into the building look like walls that are about 3 feet tall (or what ever the average height is). Upon the railings have famous quotes from americans, engraved in gold (ex. "I have a dream this afternoon..." that kinda thing).

Goofy's (i think its gunna b someone elses name there... are there ne other good disney characters with names that start with g?) Great Grill
Outside the resort, on a deck, over looking the seaven seas lagoon, holds several picnic tables. Welcome to you're fourth of July grill meal. But you're not quite right. You have entered Goofy's Great Grill! Here, the cooks work with grills that are set out on the deck. Sometimes, they even serve you. Cast members say that Goofy even shows up! (not a character dinner... but he still shows up), and entertains you as you wait for you hamburger to grill, your apple pie to be bakes, or even waiting for your watermelon to get sliced.

I hope you like, Im on a roll, and im sure people are between ideas, so i dont feel guilty about hogging this board for now  Anyways, tell me what you think! Feedbakj is always welcomed!

Well your right I'm one of those in between ideas (3 being worked on and 1 land being made for AK)....there is no such thing as hogging this board so post all you want.

OK Lets see The room decor and principle of how it got there is a great tie in....You might want to subtract the Walt part out of the rumor story....just to shorten it....but that is a great way you tied in the states with a story. I see you went with the open architecture for the lobby....good idea since most of the big D.C.buildings use this style, so it pull well into the theme. What's wrong with goofy for the grill....I say leave him in. My suggestion is to still make it a value resort since they seem to be the fun ones and I don't think you want to make your a serious hotel. Please don't take offense to that I'm not saying it can't be a deluxe....I just think it could be more fun like the All Stars.....Just keep in mind it doesn't have to use the current cookie cutter style that those use now. Your layout is great and better then they use now.

In summary great job.

Here's what Ive done so far this morning: Its staying Goofy's Great Grill, and its going to be a character meal place. I dont think I want it to be a value. I can still have fun with it being a deluxe!

Oh by all means go with deluxe. I was just suggesting.....I'm by no means the definitive end in ideas by any stretch of the imagination. I'm also bumping the idea up so someone else can read it.....Good job!!! again I like how the story supports the theme. Just keep it short like most of Disney's other ideas. If its to long it loses parts and becomes a different story over time when people explain it.

What do u mean by "bumping the idea up?" and ya, Im working on the story, it was my first draft

do u ever get the feeling that we're the only two people who come to this board anymore?

mondo1748
September 13th, 2004, 15:44
sometimes I do and then sometimes I see a lot of responses.....I guess if people don't post they don't like it much....I've had a few of those before. I guess the old saying is true....you can't please all of the people all of the time but you can please some of the people some of the time. Hey as long as you like the idea....I like it as well by the way....I do personally like the criticism even if people don't like it.....I use the comments to upgrade my thinking.......This is good to do since we may love something but since we are designing for the greater public if its not liked by them, it's only great to us......Ok enough of my mindless explaining you got the point.

I buliding a model of my resort, and i'm going to send a letter to the imagineers and see if i could get a mentor to give me hints bout my model. Right now I'm sketch plains, seeing how I'm going to lay things out. wow im so excited

Disney will do the same thing they do with everyone....Just say sorry we can't accept ideas...They just leave it at that....Sad to say.

October 27th, 2004, 01:31
no no no, I know that, what i mean is try to get an apprentiseship by asking them to give me tips.

mondo1748
October 27th, 2004, 21:38
Sad to say they won't do that either....They just say sorry we can't accept ideas and say we only hire for this position from with in....and now days unlike the past you have to be a professional in some certian field to be an imagineer. They now seem to believe that you can teach imagination if you recruit engineers or other professions. Before it was the other way around.

again, ur missing my point...
