Does anyone have a favorite restaurant at Epcot? I have heard there is entertainment at the Rose and Crown but do not know what type. I start booking my PSs tomorrow!! So close!!:)

I can't help you with the Rose and Crown. It is just a bit too near to my backyard but dinner outside with a view of the night show would be nice.
For me, though, the only restaurant in Epcot is the Bistro de Paris.

I like Bistro, as well! Great food, great ambiance!

The only "entertainment" that I am aware of at the Rose and Crown is in the bar - the lady that plays piano some evenings.

I love Marrekesh. The atmosphere is very transporting. The food was really good. And the dancer is fun to watch.

There is Pam Brody at the Pub section of the Rose and Crown. She is one heck of an entertainer. Her singing voice leaves a little to be desired, but she can really work an audience. There is also an outdoor setup in the open seating area. There were four mics on stands and stools. Didn't get a chance to see what it was all about, but looks like a new singing act may be at the Rose and Crown.

Now, for favorite places to eat at EPCOT.

Rose and Crown has wonderful Bangers and Mash. The lemon posset is delicious too!

Marrakesh is great. The selection has changed over the years, and a couple of my favorites are no longer there, but the food is still well prepared and the service excellent.

France is France. Everything about it will always be good from the bakery to the upstairs dining area. Can't go wrong here.

Le Cellier in Canada is quite nice. They get a little ambitious with some of their sauces (this is Canada, not France) but overall a nice place to have lunch or dinner.

Norway and Germany have buffets. Norway's is best at the Holiday Season, but good otherwise. Germany has really fallen off over the years, but can still be fun. The musical entertainment there adds to the experience.

I cannot recommend Alfredo's at Italy, Nine Dragons or Lotus Blossom Cafe at China, nor the US pavillion (which is counter service only). I've not ever had anything at these places worth recommending, and have stopped going to them.

Mexico is a maybe. I've had nice chef's specials there, but had guests who did not enjoy their menu selections at all. If you like Tex-Mex, eat at the Cantina outdoors. Hearty selections for fairly reasonable prices.

Japan has several areas to choose from. Depending on your mood and hunger level, all are good. My favorite thing to do there is to take a break at the Matsunoma lounge and have one of their specialty drinks and delicious tempura.

Fountain View Cafe, up in Future World is a good place to stop if you want a nice pastry and cup of coffee. There are multiple selections.

I avoid the Coral Reef. It is overpriced and under everything else (food quality, service...).

Hope this helps a bit. There are other counter service places to have a snack or a light meal. All are reasonably good.

You'll not have a problem finding something to eat in EPCOT! :)

(If you do, exit the International Gateway and head over to Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club. You'll have the best burger on the property there, and a wicked selection of ice cream concoctions)! :D

The only place I've dined at EPCOT is Le Cellier. 'Tink & Keith will tell you it isn't as good as Yachtsman's Steakhouse at YC, but I haven't eaten there, so I can't compare them!

Service was excellent and the food very good. Although I definitely recommend the steak over the prime rib. Nothing wrong with the prime rib, but the steak was much better! My friend and I always order something different so we can experiement. I ordered prime rib, since it's something I don't prepare for two people, she ordered the steak (14 oz?).

It is a lovely place Tajainaz! The atmosphere is different as is the selection and to a small extent the preparation, but that is as it should be. The prices are a little less than YSH too!

I always enjoy dining there. The duck confit was my favorite. I think they've changed it to duck two ways, or something like that now (appetizers, both).

It's a nice haven from the heat and blinding sunlight! :D

My favorites are San Angel Inn and Marakeesh. At San Angel Inn I enjoy the food but its the atmosphere that we really enjoy. Marakeesh has really great entertainment and the food is really good. We are looking forward to dinner at both places again.

It's true... Keith will tell you it isn't as good as Yachtsman's ;-) BUT Le Cellier is a long time fave of ours at Epcot.

We've had many a nice evening at epcot, ending with a late PS at Le Cellier and a stroll through a nearly empty epcot after the meal.

Helen would want me to mention the wonderful bread selection in particular the pretzel bread. I'd want to mention the very friendly CMs who work there and the steak is a regular fave of mine. There's a nice atmosphere especially if you go later. They WERE letting inconsiderate people park strollers all over the restaurant and let kidlets run wild which was spoiling it somewhat for me... however last time I was there they were being stricter about that.

Advance PSs VERY needed for Le Cellier. It's getting hard to get into by PSing on the day or even the day before...

I like the Rose and Crown too.... it's a rather funny approximation of a UK pub really but for all that, they have some surprisingly tasty dishes (although a large PAH! goes to the "authentic fish and chips").

My favorite is the Bistro de Paris (serving dinner only), upstairs over Chefs de France

Then I would pick in random order, Mitsukoshi Teppanyiki, Le Cellier, Rose & Crown, Alfredo's and Marrakesh.

Next in line would be Chefs de France, San Angel Inn and Nine Dragons.

Finally would come the Biergarten and Akershus in that order.

We have never done the Coral Reef and based on other comments that I have seen really have no desire to do it.

i must be in the minority here but i personally love the German buffet and the "musikanten" is great especially for the kids...mine just run around while we eat the sausages and vienerschnitzel etc(i'm not sure if that's how you spell it).it's got a good atmosphere and i also like the nine dragons but i'm a real sucker for chinese food.i've never eaten at the san angel but we're definetly going there on our forthcoming trip ..... it looks very romantic!!i don't think that you'll be disappointed really at any of world showcases restaurants --but i might just be easily pleased i suppose...good luck anyway!!

mattvic, my disdain for the German isn't because I don't like it. I lived in Germany for 13 years and that buffet in the Biergarten just doesn't cut it. They have Americanized the German food too much for my taste. They also need a better selection of German Bier. I didn't drink Becks when I lived there. I drink it at Disney because it it there but for pete's sake it isn't even Bavarian.

USC i agree totally with the beer selection at germany my favourite is Warsteiner -i'd love to see it on draught there ----i' didn't know about the food being americanised --i'm probably a bit naive..but i just love those sausages and viener schnitzel and the roast beef and so on...is the food much better at the real Oktoberfest 'cos i might just have to go there one day (i wish):) LOL

Have been told there is a resteraunt in Epcot that has a balcony where you can eat and watch the fireworks at the same time. Does anybody know which one it is?

the Rose and Crown has a patio. You cannot PS for the patio, but you can request it upon arrival and hope for the best

I think you may mean the Rose & Crown Pub - it has some outdoor tables on a patio with a view of Illuminations but you have to time your PS carefully and then be lucky to get an outdoor table not an indoor one.

Our favourite for dinner is Le Cellier but we also really enjoyed lunch at Morocco.

If you have not ever had a spit roasted shoulder of pork (Schweinehaxen) or spit roasted chicken (haenchen) cooked like they do it in Germany you don't know what you are missing. I want to go back there so bad and take Donna to Oktoberfest that it isn't even funny. Oh, and yes Warsteiner is a great Bier.

I really like the German Biergarten buffet in Epcot. I went one December after being in Muenchen in October, but of course the food and beer did not seem as good IMHO.

I cannot explain my affinity for Germany, but I love that country. It is hard to believe we fought against them in the recent war. Bavaria is my favorite Land. I try to speak only German when I visit, unless I am with Americans or English people. Sometimes I am mistaken for English, which is a compliment in Europe, I think.

We've only eaten in Nine Dragons, China in Epcot. Lovley meal, no atmosphere, we went too early and were the only people in the place! However, the waitresss couldn't do enough for us and the food was well cooked and fresh. Worth a try later in the evening.

cheers usc i will definetly have to go and pay a visit, that type of food is tailor made for me and i know they do packages that aren't really that expensive as we can get flights to european cities quite cheaply over here (if you try hard enough) and being a scotsman i could maybe give the bavarian natives a run for their money in the beer drinking stakes!!!:D spit roasted chickens eh!!and roast pork freshly cooked in that kind of atmosphere must be divine!!!!!!!

I was just thinking about this, and realised we've been to very few places to eat at Epcot.

We loved the german buffet though, and I think the Italian for an evening meal would be wonderful, we went for lunch and there was far too much food for me.....

Favorite must be Le Celliers in Canada, Nine Dragons was OK but we seated in a corner and a bit out of the way. Keep meaning to try San Angel Inn as the atmosphere looks really cool in there.

We loved Nine Dragons both times we went there in China... mind you we are a bit prone to the yummy Chinese food!

We hope to dine at Garden Grill at our next trip, after hearing good things about it and we're all big veggie eaters too, and I've heard they are amazing here! Also with it being a revolving resturant, it sounds like something different and fun! :eat:

A relative of mine recently dined at Nine Dragons and said that it has really improved! She was with us at the last not so great dinner, so she has a point of reference for improvement.

It used to be really nice, then fell off. I'm hoping the recent report is correct and that it is on it's way up again.

Nearly impossible to get truly nice Chinese in this area of Florida.

I'm thinking we may give Nine Dragons a try this time. We've done a lot of Epcot restaurants so we need to try the not as popular ones.

My favourite at the moment is between Le Cellier & Chefs de Paris.

We love Alfredo's!! We have always found the food excellent and the staff really great. The last time we were in the manager came out and started singing which really added to the evening. The drinks, Belini and Rossini are to be highly reccomended too (hic)

Wow! Talk about bringing an old thead back to life!

I always enjoy dinner in Japan, the cantina in Mexico, breakfast in Norway (princesses).... just about anywhere actually. I know LeCellier is very popular around here, I'm trying it in October for the first time
