the ones on the wall are w-e-a-k. My hair isn't super thick and it takes forever with the wall ones. I'm bringing mine (so come knock on my door if you need to borrow it)

That tells you how blucky my hair is. Those things have it dry in just two or three short minutes. :) I don't usually use a dryer, does that tell you anything?

Thanks JM.
Mine is like 'Tinks. Turn round twice and it's dry. :D I should be ok with the weak one.
I don't usually bother with hairdryers either, but seeing as I have a 'Social Calendar' this time  I'd better make the effort. :D

My hair is more like JM's. It takes FOREVER to dry it using those resort dryers. There seems to be no happy medium with hotel hair dryers, does there? I've have ones that nearly blew me to the other side of the room, and I've had ones where I kept checking to make sure I had put it on "high"...

Definitely taking my own dryer in December! I'm like JM--I would spend the entire day trying to dry my hair!
The ones at YC--or that they had when we were there in August, 2003--also are very weak. Hope they're replaced them!

I did that once. Rubbed in a styling product. Bore a striking resemblance to a baby orangutan once it dried. Haven't quite had the courage to do it again, although I do love baby orangs, chimps, gorillas...monkeys of any kind. :D

NOPE, makeup is not allowed in Disney World. The reason for this is that if some people wear makeup and others don't, it'll make those of us who don't bother look bad. Therefore, all makeup will be confiscated before entering any Disney estabilishment :D

Oh thank you Breeze!!!!! I tend to only wear makeup to funerals and weddings any more (and dinner at REAL resturants, Chili's doesn't count) and since I doubt there'll be a funeral...wedding....hmmm...I may have to think on this one..

Chapstick is allowed in all Disney establishments as they do not want a bunch of people walking around with dry lips as this may cause discomfort which may keep them from spending money in the above mentioned establishments. However, tinted chapstick is not allowed as it might be mistaken for lip gloss which is considered makeup.

Yes, Slowhand there are hair dryers at Pop Century. They are the attached to the wall sort, with the control in the handle of the unit. Low, medium or high. The off on switch is on the base of the unit, though. Hit the on switch, flick the temp to high, hang your head down and wave the dryer madly about your head. When you feel dizzy, fling your head back, run your fingers through your hair (shut the dryer off) and go.
There you have it. 'Tink's twenty second process for orangutan hair! :D (Works like a charm every time). :hehe:

You found it.
Let me bring you up to speed..........Don't try to dry your hair at PoP unless it's fine and fly-away. DO NOT bring any Make-up as it will be confiscated upon arrival.....unless you're male and then a full Make-up kit is compulsary as are tights/hose. If tights aren't available, then an 'Incredibles' costume will surfice.
It's sounding like 'Soap' again isn't it?

Confused? You will be...
Which reminds me I found re-runs of Soap on an obscure cable channel the other night. I was so happy...
Anyway I digress. But hey, so has everyone else here.
So where are these aforementioned men in tights then?

JacksDad is hiding in the closet, quivering at the thought of being seen.
USCWest has taken himself and his tights on a short weekend holiday. He's cavorting in them somewhere outside of Virginia, I think.
Slowhand has his full of ladders/runs and twisted every which way so that they are pinching his poor knees. He's sent Mrs. Slowhand out to purchase another pair.
Ieuan has quite run off and is refusing to come home until the discussion of his donning tights is completely over.
Chris, of Chris/Lisa fame already wears tights, but just doesn't realize it. The "skins" he wears for cold weather running are nothing other than Danskins tights!
redkop refuses to wear anything that will clash with his Snow White shirt, so has left it to one of us to find him a coordinating pair.
AlecK is still frozen in horrified shock, gasping for air in the bedroom, at the mere thought of trying to get a pair of tights on, never mind being seen in public.
Adrian and Mark are looking very busy elsewhere hoping that they will go unnoticed in all this. They are wrong.

And we're still trying to stage "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" in WQ's room......
Note to self: Brad would be wonderful as Dr. Scott..we can put him in a wheelchair for most of the production...much less strss on the knee....

only problem with that is at the end, Dr. Scott does have to walk around

Actually we were cavorting well within the confines of the state of Virginia. UCLA's official colors are Sky Blue and Sun Gold. YUCK. I'll take the Cardinal & Gold any day. And yes those are USC colors. The Redskins are Burgundy and Gold and believe it or not there is a difference.

You've got it USC :) Cardinal and Gold it is

Cavorting in the state of Virginia, eh? Well, that's good! You didn't have to make your poor leotard travel far, then. I'm assuming you are up to the full complement of the leotard by now. :D
Cardinal and burgundy should be quite different colors. Think of the bird versus the wine!

I know this thread is a couple of weeks old but I just HAD to post! Here I wander innocently in looking for information on PC and end up having the best laugh I have had in weeks!
My DH is looking at me funny sitting here :rotfl: :rotfl: and asking if I'm ok cos the tears are rolling down my cheeks I'm laughing so hard.
is everyone who goes to WDW as crazy as you guys? :hehe:

I know. :rotfl: I had forgotten what the question was at about page 2. :D

October 17th, 2004, 14:36
Oh no! Not nearly everyone who goes is as crazy as we are! :D We win the prize for being the most animated and enthusiastic gang of WDW lovers on the planet!
But if you do have questions do remember to ask them! We'll give it our best shot to answer them, but don't make any promises not to throw in some silliness along the way.
Before you know it, you'll be throwing in some silliness too!

This may be strange....the thread here says there are hair dryers at Pop...all I can find online says no!
I love the orangutang (sp?) look....but guess what...my hair is SO baby fine and straight that it takes mousse....hair spray...gel...upside down hair drying...and it still falls flat in 2 hours!

Mine kinks and waves, but the top goes flat almost immediately due to the weight. I cheat at WDW and wear a French braid most of the time! :D
BevW
October 18th, 2004, 21:19
Be on the safe side..bring your hairdryer! I didn't last year, and even though my hair is straight, it's also thick and takes forever to dry, and AS Movies didnt' have dryers waaaaah.

French Braid...that would require hair longer than not touching my ears right? Plus....so fine hair that I could grow it out to my waist and the French Braid would still be the size of a pencil....I now have hair envy!

Don't envy it, Brenda. It's a pain! I decided to let it grow four or five years ago and haven't figured out a low-maintenance (cost and time) style for it yet. It's almost always pulled back from my face in some form of ponytail or half-ponytail, with the occasional excursion into French braid or...gasp...actually curling it! :ohno:

Just got back from POP & there were no hair dryers.

I used to French braid my hair...then I just decided to cut it all off. Don't worry about ponytails or styling or anything. I love low maintenance hair. :lmao:
