I confess to being a bit of a shopaholic and I can't wait to hit the outlets - only 4 days left to go before I am let loose!! :D My question is, what sort of prices can I expect to pay for jeans, trainers etc??

Would depend on the brand of course but I average about $20 for jeans with some better deals to be found. Sneakers I can usually find at an outlet for $30-$40

Just be careful in what you are buying. Many, many of the items (jeans in particular) are seconds or irregulars. That makes them less valuable in my estimation so they should be sold at a reduced rate. Sometimes, the cost isn't so much of a bargain after all.

Blimey that's good!! I am travelling light so I have plenty of room to fill my suitcase up!

Hmmm interesting...I always thought that outlets sold items from the past season or something, stock that they want to get rid of to make way for new stuff?

Not always. Some items are "irregular" which is why they land in the outlet.

I've always had better luck at retail stores when there is a sale going on, than I have at outlet stores.

With the exception of Old Navy and Gap, I'm the same way Tink. Keep an eye out for a good Burdines sale

Or Bloomingdale's or Neiman Marcus. Dillard's too, but I have some problems with that store and don't often go there.

Dillard's clearence racks can be a lot of fun... I heard that Burdines-Macy is going to just be called Macy's from now on....

So which is the best mall to visit in Orlando then?

Retail mall? The Mall at Millenia. Outlet based? Many folks really like the Beltz outlets. I don't, but don't go by me.

I don't care for the outlets very much, particularly Belz.

You know, I complain at the drop of a hat, and have been known to be very petty in arguments with businesses of all kinds - I rather enjoy the thrill of the battle.
However, some places have never given me cause to complain:
1) I have never in hundreds of visits had a bad experience at a Wal-Mart. (www.walmart.com) They know how retail is done.
2) I always like Home Depot (www.homedepot.com) for home improvement. Admittedly, this is one store where the vacationing Brits cannot expect to take home their treasures, as it is hard to attach a sink or commode to the wing of a Virgin Airlines plane.
3) WDW is the very best IMHO. My own experience has been that if there is ever anything wrong, they make it right immediately and cheerfully.

If it seems I am in love with WDW, that's right.

That's what I was hoping! I went to Chicago in May and my boyfriend bought some 501s (from Sears I think it was, not an outlet), for something silly like $30. The same pair in Debenhams here costs about £60!!
