We are going to WDW in December. We aren't sure if we want to go to MGM. If I think the Rockin roller coaster is a great ride, we may end up visiting MGM.
Can I get some feedback on just how good a ride the Rockin roller coaster is?

I love the Rock 'n Roller Coaster. It is the only inverted ride on Disney property and done very well to the music of Aerosmith. That portion of the park is my favorite (TOT and RnRC). As much as I love the RnRC, I wouldn't base my whole decision on whether or not to visit a park on it.

i love both those rides RnR and ToT, MGM has a lot more to it than just those rides though

Are you looking specifically for roller coasters? If so, Islands of Adventure or Busch Gardens have much better coasters, but MGM studios is a better "all-around" park. And the Fantasmic show beats any other show of its kind anywhere.

It Rocks, Baby!!!

It's not only the fact it is a roller coaster, it's indoors, Aerosmith's music blasting, even the pre-show rocks...

I love MGM in fact its my favorite Disney park and RnRC is the best Disney coaster I have been on, but overall as a coaster its only OK. The launch and first loop are great but it fizzles after that. TOT on the other hand is one of the best rides I have ever been on period, it should not be missed.

I have to agree with Bosox. I loved TOT . RnRC was ok. I loved the pre-show and the very beginning, but after that I just felt like I was getting jostled around and I got off with a headache. If you have park hopper passes it is worth checking out though.

RnRC is my very favorite ride at WDW. It automatically sets a big old smile on my face that lasts all through the ride and even lingers for a little bit after I get off.

It's the whole experience: the music playing from speakers close to your head, the air blowing past you, the flips and turns, and the visuals (glow in the dark traffic signs and palm trees).

Just makes me very happy.

And I second the opinion that there is much more to do and see at MGM than just the two big rides. Fantasmic alone is worth the trip.

If you enjoy Disney movies, you'll like this park.

We rode it and bought the picture. The expressions on our faces were hilarious.

It's one of our favorite rides, along with Tower of Terror.

I think both rides are amazing..... Now with ToT 4... you really dont know what to expect, and each time you ride it, its a completetly different experience

RnRC is amazing!!!.... especially because since its an inside ride, you really dont know when the twists and turns will happen!!

If you are only looking for thrill rides MGM is worth the trip just for RnR Coaster & ToT alone. They are fantastic! Be warned RnR is a pretty short ride though. So hopefully it will be off season & you can run back through again.

RocknRoller Coaster...I have to ride that at least 5 times before we leave the park. and MGM is a great park. Especially when the Osborne Family Christmas lights are up and running. That's an awesome show in itself.

TOT, I love that ride, but DH can't stand it. But he rides it because I love it. He screams really loud! Maybe that's why I love it!

Star Tours is a great ride at MGM also. I enjoy MGM because it seems to be a slower pace than Magic Kingdom...lots of places to people watch and to just sit and relax and see the street shows.

Awww come on Lisa! If I had any purchased on that ride, I'd post them. But I never bought them...my hair was always all over the place, and I just couldn't see buying something that would just make me laugh every time I saw it. I can do that by myself.

(I love that emoticon)

Anyhow, it really is a great ride. The first time I went on it "Walk This Way" was blarin' on the speakers. It was great. We also loved the ToT. Use Fastpass when you can on it because it will fill up fast, along with RnRC. StarTours and Muppet 3D are favorites of our family. The Indiana Jones stunt show is pretty nice. My wife and I loved that one. I personally liked the Great Movie ride a lot because I'm kind of a movie buff. There are more shows here than the other parks. We love going to MGM so if you are wondering if you should go, I recommend it. We don't miss it whenever we go down to Orlando.

seriously, i know what you mean, last trip i too ds on RnR, ands as soon as he saw the thing pull away at very high speed he absolutely well i wont spell it out and he was shaking like a leaf and was really scared to go on it he went out of the escape door to the side to get out, he was only 12/13 at the time, im hoping he has plucked up the courage to do it this trip cos his cousin the same age i going with us and he loves white knuckle rides and so he dont get 'shown up' he might do it. cos once hes done that type of ride once i think he will love them. keeping :fingers:
