I'm probably not the best person to ask about CS. I stayed there over July 4th weekend and this is the only resort where I did not have a great Disney experience. Check in was slow and the CM was rude. Our room was about as far from the main building as you could possibly want. The pool was closed 2 out of three days we were there...
The room itself was okay, loud at night but we were on the end, near the elevator and stairwell. Personally I would take the value resort and spend the extra $20 on something fun

We stayed in CS one summer trip. It was a nice resort. I cannot remember the exact name or numbers of the buildings but there are a group of rooms that are almost what seems exactly between the main pool & the lobby/food/gift shop area. They even had a nice little "beach" area with hammocks hanging from the palm trees. Our area (which I also cannot remember! geesh) was very nice. There was a pretty fountain right in the middle & it wasn't noisy at all, very clean & quiet. Nice close walk to the food court which is what we requested. I think the overall outside of the resort is gorgous! Just standing out at the water at night & looking all around, it looks like a little city. So pretty. The pool is fabulous. My kids favorite after Stormalong Bay at BC. A whole lot of fun. Huge hot tub too. I wasn't crazy about the food court but didn't hate it. Didn't try the nicer restaurant as it was a little pricier than I wanted to pay for food that I MAY like. Nice gift shop. I never had a rude CM, they were all very nice. Check in was a breeze. It wasn't busy at all & this was in June. I think that's just the luck of the draw. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Just found this website I had saved in my favorite places from when we went. It may help on determining the room to request. I haven't looked at it in a long time but I bet there is a map.

Stayed at CSR December, 2003. If I were a child, I would love the Dig Site. Okay, I'm not a child and I love the Dig Site! :)
My room was in Cabanas 8 or 9 (can't remember), a short walk from Bus Stop 4. Bus service was very good. It was a bit of a hike to the main building, but I wasn't there very often, so it didn't really matter.
The Casitas buildings are closest to the main building, and many of the convention goers are in those rooms. Probably more adult oriented than the other sections.
Ranchos are farthest away from the main building, and likely the quietest. They have their own bus stop.
Cabanas are the most popular section, so they have difficulty honoring requests.
My only negative experience was on check in. I specifically requested NON SMOKING, NOT to be in Ranchos (I live in the desert southwest) and NOT on the first floor. Where was I assigned? Ranchos, first floor and smoking. The CM was very unsympathetic, saying I had requested those things. I hadn't, and had the fax to prove it. Fortunately another CM in the next station overheard her making excuses and did a quick search to find a perfect spot for me!

We stayed at CS a couple of years ago in the Casitas which is closest to the food court. CS is a lovely resort and we were met with nothing but friendly CM's all the time during our stay. It is a large resort and each set of buildings is a totally different theme. Although there was a convention there at the time it didn't bother us at all. We didn't notice any noise, the quiet pools were lovely. The food court takes a bit of getting used to. As you go in you get a little card and as you buy food it is stamped and you pay at the exit. The cashier just adds up all the little stamps and that's the price you pay. The Dig Site is great as is the large pool and there's a lovely little cafe just by the side of the pool where you can buy drinks and snacks. Buses run frequently and it wasn't a long walk to the stop. Hope you have a great time there.

I love Coronado Springs  . We stayed there on our last trip and are going back this time. We had a room in the Cabanas section overlooking the lake. It was lovely. The whole resort is beautifully laid out and the walk around the lake at night is fabulous. Very romantic. We found the CMs amd Mousekeepers all very friendly and helpful. We found the bus service to be better than at other resorts we have stayed in.:)
I'll give you an update when we return from this trip (you'll probably need to remind me  )

If you don't mind walking if you want to go to "El Centro", "Ranchos" or "Cabanas" are IMO the best buildings. They are close to "The Dig Site" which is fun for kids and has a great Pool Bar.
Also, CSR gets a lot of convention guests who stay in "Casitas" for the proximity to the "Convention Center".

I'm sorry for all the people who had a bad experience at this resort. But I stayed there in April and me and my family just loved it  . We stated in the Ranchos (6B I think). It was nice and quite. Had no trouble with getting to the main building. It was a nice walk. We got the chance to see the whole resort while taking a stroll to the main building. For those people who were in my section and didn't want to walk to the main building, they would catch the bus. The bus would usually go pass the main building before exiting the resort. The Ranchos is the closet section to the main pool (Dig Site). this is a really beautiful place. The kiddies loved the pool area, in fact we always had a hard time getting them out the pool to go to the parks  . We had no issues with check in. So if I was you,and you really wanted to try it. I say go for it.

We stayed at the Cabanas 8B second floor and loved it. It was only 5 min walk from pepper market/reception/Maya Grill and main bus stop and the whole site can be walked in under 40 minutes. The Dig Site main pool was just around the corner and we had our own small pool and laundry next to our building along with a 2 min stroll to the nearest bus stop. We requested the Cabanas after reading all the bumf we could on CSR as they seemed to have for us the best outside areas with the beach front complete with hammocks in front of the building. The Ranchos were furthest away from the main buildings but even that wasnt more than 20 mins walking slow but their landscape was more rocks and streams than lawns and sand. The Casitas are like the 'town centre' with 3 storey buildings and were full of convention people. I prefered the 2 storey buildings as there were less people all around you. We were not bothered at all by the convention people although if you like a drink in the bar at night you may find it hard to get a seat! But during the day it meant less people getting on the buses and going to the parks and in the afternoons less people around the pool as they were in their meetings. We never waited long for buses but did find our stops at the parks were quite a distance from the entrances - no fun coming around the corner to see your bus pulling out of its stop when your hot and tired - bit like being at home!!

We stayed at Coronado a couple years ago and we liked it very well :D
We stayed at the Ranchos, way at the very end of the resort way out in no-mans-land so it was a half hour walk to El Centro  So usually we took the rental and drove our lazy selves over there :D
Pool was nice but too many storms that summer kept chasing us out of the pool :( And for some reason we had funny looking lil bugs that got in our room a lot :afraid: But then again that was the year the resort opened and we figured our building was one of the last made since is was sooooo out of the way that that may have been the reason for the bugs!
All in all, loved it :D Esp. the food court

We honeymooned there this June and the resort is fantastic.. I think it has the best pool from all the resorts. We visited a couple of deluxe resorts while we were and the C.S pool seemed better to us... The only other resort I would consider staying at in the moderate band is Port Orleans-Riverside other than that this would be my first choice everytime
