View Full Version : MNSSHP 2004/Halloween night meet-up?

I am trying to figure out a place to meet up fellow UOG board members at MNSSHP. There are a couple things I will be wanting to watch (and maybe things others will want to watch, too). So I was thinking it might be logical to arrange a meet up during the wait time--it would make the wait time even more fun!
Before any meet ups can be planned, I thought it would be good to collect some data on the event times. :) ...
I was wondering if they featured the story of the Headless Horseman this year? (I believe it is over by the Liberty Bell at about 7:30pm ...I guess that would be shortly before he makes his ride) ?
For anyone who has attended MNNSHP this year, are the times/events the same for this year:

Just to the left of Space Mountain, in between SM and the Speedway is a quiet path with benches. You can even sit behind SM which I like to do alot. No crowds.
Because not many people travel that way it's an ideal place to meet someone.
You don't have to worry about looking around everywhere. If that's where you plan to meet chances are anyone who comes thruough is who you're looking for.
Just be on time! :D

I was thinking about two places:
1. The Liberty Bell at 7:30pm (if they still do that Headless Horseman story)
or
2. A good viewing spot so that the witch could be seen flying. I figure most folks get to the viewing spot a little bit early. I thought this would be a great time to chat... And no harm if someone got distracted and were not able to meet up. :) ... I was hoping to get confirmation that the fireworks are at 9:15pm this year, too, so timing could be figured out. Or, maybe say X number of minutes prior to the fireworks, meet at X place. :)

I have a favorite spot to watch the witch from, it is good to see the witch, but not the best spot to view the fireworks... So, I am open to suggestions about the best place.

Still abit jet lagged but i went to the MNSSHP on the 12th. I didn`t know or see about the headless horseman, sometimes due to rain the parade was delayed. I found a good spot to watch the show in front of the castle then hung around for the firweworks then the parade all in the one spot and that was just across the road from the cxASTLE, STraight in front of it. You w2ill also see the witch flying above you,. I have a leaflet on parade timesa and will type it out if you would l8ike.

Hi,
We are going to MNSSHP this year for the first time.
What is the flying witch, and where can you see her?
Does she replace tinkerbell before the fireworks?
Thanks!:D

That she does. Be sure to get a spot in enough time before the parade to see the headless horseman

DC we went to the first MNSSHP and the schedule has changed very little since last year.
Parade Same as 2003 - 8:00 and 10:00pm
Mickey's Mouse-Ka-Rade costume party 6:45,7:30,8:30,9:45,10:30&11:15
Storytelling no set time
Fireworks Same as 2003 - 9:15
Cinderella Surprise Same as 2003
Character Appearances
Riverboat ride no time listed
No Goofy Jamboree
and there is the addition of mask making stations (like EPCOT) and there are unadvertised fortune tellers in Adventureland where Jasmine and Aladdin do autographs (last year they were well hidden to the right of SM near the bathrooms. We found them and my DD really enjoyed having her fortune told. The line can really take a long time b/c the fortune tellers really take their time with you and give you a thoughtful experience)
I wish I could tell you what the stories were. Last year DD loved the stories. This year she wanted no part of them. But the locations are the same. Belle's Garden and Liberty Sq. and on the Riverboat. My guess would be that they would do Headless Horseman story.

DK,
Thanks for the info. Did you purchase any of the limited edition MNSSHP pins when you went? When I went two years ago, they had 3 different pins which could be purchased at two different locations. They were out of one of the pins by the time we made it to the correct purchasing location.
Last year, I believe they issued a different MNSSHP pin each night they had the party. I was wondering if they did the same this year.

They had the storytelling in front of Liberty Bell on the 14th. There were three different times set but they have escaped me at the moment.

MystikPiglit,
I'm thinking about making the HM ride our first ride of the evening since we will be eating dinner at the Liberty Tree tavern just prior to MNSSHP--so, we might be closer to 7:30pm. (I should look up the ride time for HM, shouldn't I? I bet WDWGrandma knows. :) ). Of course, this is depending on where they sell the limited edition pins
Do you think we should get there 7:15pm to get a good spot? (I wish I knew if being near the Liberty Bell allows one to get a good viewing spot for the parade, too. )
Another worry -- will your kids be okay with having the first hour + of MNSSHP devoted to listening to the story and watching the parade or will they be anxious to go trick or treating? (I still have to run by the plan with DH and DS as I am not sure DH and DS16 will want to stay and watch the whole parade. :) ) Will you be staying for the whole party? Will this be your first MNSSHP?

They did something really weird this year DC. We went on the 3rd (second party) and I went into one of the store that had the LE pins for MVMCP when we were there in 2002. They said they were only at the Emporium. I finally fight the madhouse to the correct cash register ("Oh, those are at the next register") Only to be told that they were sold out...BUT that they were taking orders and they would be shipped home to you in a few weeks! I haven't received mine yet, will let you know when it arrives.

I honestly can't remember if there was film there or not. All I know, is that the door I started at, it was the farthest from! It was an absolute madhouse in there and trying to navigate my ECV was a nightmare. There were shirts available at different stores (Jordan and I got matching ones..alas, none in Marcus' size). I'll have to post a piccie of them, they're quite cute. Jordan caused quite a stir today in school with his.

My family plans to dress up in scrubs (if they arrive in time--I checked on my order today and they can't find it! )
I am planning to be at the Liberty Bell at 7:30pm for the story of the Headless Horseman and to watch the Headless Horseman make his ride....
I also plan to stake out a spot for watching the fireworks at around 9:00pm-ish...
