We are trying to plan a mini vacation for Dec. and I was able to get a reservation at ASM. I forgot that those hotels sometimes have pop warners and other school events staying at them. Is there any way to find out if a group will be staying at the hotel during our time? I have a 4 & 1 year old and I don't want to have a lot of noise during bed time. Thanks!

If there are just ask for a room away from the groups. Dawn did this last year and it worked great for her

Pop Warner is 5-11 December this year so expect groups at the All Star resorts and also Pop Century.
Last year we faxed the resort 3 days before we arrived and asked very nicely for a room away from group bookings as we had young children. We got rooms in the Toy Story section on the backside of the building. We never noticed the cheerleaders unless we went to the food court while they were there.

Guess I'm out of the loop. What is Pop Warners? We're staying at ASMovies Dec 4-13 and after reading this thread, I'm starting to worry a bit. What are we going to be dealing with??

I echo the suggestion to ask for a quiet room!
The little.... angels.... were a total pain last December. Everytime we walked through the resort to get a bus or go to the food court we had to negotiate gangs of screaming cheerleaders some less polite than others and do they get out of people's way? oooooh no, they stand there across the whole path not budging an inch. That's before we consider the teachers with them who yell push and were sometimes ruder than the kids. Then there's the packed out food court, the packed out busses with kids yelling at the top of their voices and so on. Picky? well maybe, but after a great and tiring day at the parks and maybe a romantic meal at one of the resorts, the last thing you want is a bus full of screaming cheerleaders.
dnsmills, don't let the above put you off. You'll love asm, great value and wonderfully christmas disney feeling in December... just make sure to ask for a quiet room and if you get annoyingly loud kids next door, report it and ask to change room. We ended up in the mighty ducks section of ASM which was blissfully quiet with its own seldom occupied pool, laundry room etc. Theme wise it meant nothing to me, never seen the mighty ducks stuff, but it did get us out of the way of all the cheerleaders :)

 ehhehe
The parks are large enough to absorb the influx usually... every so often you'll have the usual group problems of encountering a group of loud kids all wearing the same kind of t-shirt proudly proclaiming themselves to be part of the wisconsin wobblebottoms or some such team.. there's a reasonable chance of them trying to push in front of you in any queue you may be in or putting one member of the group in the queue then all rushing to rejoin that individual when he/she is close to the ride/concession stand etc. There's a 25% chance that the CM on duty will say something and a 75% chance they'll pretend not to notice.
Generally speaking though, there are so many groups in the parks, the cheermonsters tend not to be as annoying as they can be in the smaller area of a resort ;-)

What's the age range of these 'little angels'? 8 & 9 yr olds; I'd go crazy! 18 & 19 yr olds; well, I'd still go crazy but in a much better way. LOL I'll be here all week, be sure and tip your waitress.

All different ages, David! Based on those I saw last year, 'tweens on up. Really not a problem unless you happen to want to be across from where you are and a group of them is in between! ;)

Think the resort would be baffled by a request of, 'Please put us as close as possible to the hottest group of 18 yr olds'? Probably not as baffled as the doctors at the hospital would be after my wife shoved my head up my own rear. :) Hey, I'm only human, and a man at that! If I didn't look, my wife would think there was something wrong with me.

ps
personally i cant think of anything worse than coming to WDW for a week and living right in the middle of 100's of silly giggly noisey girls on a mission to have a good time
i think i'd rather have my bed moved into the corner of IASW

Exactly. I can look at the menu all I want, I just can order anything. But I have no problems with dinner at home. :)
