I just wanted EVERYONE here to know what wonderful guys we have here. ukwdwnut, Keith, JacksDad are truly fantastic. They helped me with my computer problem..and believe me, it was a PROBLEM!! :tantrum: :hissy: :wall:

I was about to :demonstra Dell because of the help I wasn't getting from them.

We started around 2 central time and we finally finished at 6:30 cental time. I know Keith and Mike were tired, and I was so worried about JD!! I didn't want him to stress out about my computer problem! But they all stuck it out! And they got my computer running again.

So guys!!! This is for you!

[Thank you all so much!

JacksDad

Sshhhhh!

Don't tell! Now everyone will want personalised WDWUOG Tech Support!

JuniorMickey
October 18th, 2004, 02:52
So what was the problem gentlemen?

JacksDad
October 18th, 2004, 03:06
It was broken. :D

JuniorMickey
October 18th, 2004, 03:13
Gotcha :D Kind of like the Dolphins huh? JM scurries for her life

JacksDad
October 18th, 2004, 03:20
Oooh. I expected a better slap than that!

I already told you that stuff doesn't bother me. What's done is done.
And they were done before they even started! :D

It seems the SP1 update didn't take all the way. That caused the SP2 update to crash the 'puter.

Concur gentlemen?

OKWTink
October 18th, 2004, 03:23
After last night's Yankees game, I'd not be picking on the Dolphins, eh?

Good work men! Can't have our BevW out of commission! :nono:

JacksDad
October 18th, 2004, 03:33
It's not over yet.

Keith and Mike get the day shift.

JuniorMickey
October 18th, 2004, 03:39
Football and Baseball are different sports. I said nothing about the Yankees-Red Sox. The Patriots on the other hand won again today and are 5-0. They have won 20 straight games (17 straight regular season games). the Dolphins are 0-6 and lost to the other winless team today

OKWTink
October 18th, 2004, 03:42
Of course they are different sports! :D Otherwise, what would the fun be? Just pointing out that one person's win, can translate into another person's loss when the games are switched.

Not a huge issue at any rate.

JuniorMickey
October 18th, 2004, 03:43
I'm not even bringing up the mess that is known as the ALCS. At least my Patriots know how to win :D

BevW
October 18th, 2004, 04:07
I HAVE OUTLOOK AGAIN!!! Wooohoooo....

I didn't loose stuff from when I re installed either. I found all my pictures, and downloads, and all sorts of stuff....some of it didn't work, like the Mickey countdown timer for my desktop, but hey, I can find that thread again...can't I?

I'm even getting my internet connection back to working order. THAT was the scary part.

Blue Screen of Death..I hope no one ever gets that.

BevW
October 18th, 2004, 04:07
Oh, guys, I'm back on the desktop...giving the laptop a break. It says THANK YOU!

Good to hear you're up and running once again Bev!! These guys *are* great! They've helped me out more than a couple of times myself!! :D

Tinker
October 18th, 2004, 05:22
Yeah , they are pretty cool ! I think we'll keep them around !

 Tink , I was thinking it , but kept my fingers from typing this time around . JM what happened ? Seriously , that was a runaway sad game for the Sox and their fans . I know that Curt Shilling (is it ? ) pitcher is out , but this just goes to prove that if these teams ( any team ) would play their bench warmers alittle more , they just might have alittle experience . Although , I'm happy that my Yanks are going to the World Series , I don't feel the need to gloat . You guys get let down every year .

When I went to Microsoft to download the new SP they said I should back my system up first. I'm not really a PC person so I haven't gotten the back up done and am not even sure of the easiest way to do it.

you only need to back-up your personal files that you have created, also if you use outlook then you need to back-up the outlook.pst file all to a cd if you have a cdrw, or another partition on your hard drive if you have sat c d. e being you cdrom/cdrw etc, let me know if you need to know anything else :D

ya know i could have sworn i asked you that the other day, on cd case or the pc :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I did look on the front and back of the pc, but there wasn't anything there. When I called Dell about finding the note on the manual I asked why the heck did they take it off and put it on the computer! And she told me because so many people throw the manual away.

She don't know me very well...I still have manuals from things I don't own anymore! I told her I couldn't find the product code, and she told me where it was. Ok, my PC is in a cubby under the computer desk. It's dark down there and even with a flashlight I wouldn't have seen that code bar.
I had to pull that sucker out of the cubby area!

Phew! So, now everyone who owns a dell, you're xp software product code is on the pc!!!

ukwdwnut
October 20th, 2004, 09:01
they now put it there, to make it illegal to install that copy of XP on any other pc, but if you do, how will they know , so if anyone builds their on pc and buys a copy of XP stick the product id on a jewel case of the cd not on the pc :D

ukwdwnut
October 20th, 2004, 17:00
Phew! So, now everyone who owns a dell, you're xp software product code is on the pc!!!
