Okay, this is complicated... On previous trips I have taken:shorts,vest-tops,t-shirts, few long skirts, couple of cardigans, one jacket. I have neverworn everything that was taken so this time I was determined to lighten the cases by taking fewer things.
But......we are going later in the year so it will be cooler, especially at night.
So - how can I take less when I need more????  Help!

Living in the Northwest, has taught me to dress for anything. I don't know how long you are staying, and I don't know if you will have access to laundry facilities. So, I will let you know what Me and my family does, when traveling.
I pack shorts, that can be worn as either shorts or a swimsuit. I only wear them when I know it's going to be a swim day. Sport shirts, rather than T-shirts, that way they are casual enough that I don't stand out, and can double as a nice shirt with Dockers or something. I pack Jeans and Dockers for long pants. A pair of walking shoes and a pair of nicer shoes, for grownup nights. I usually carry a fleece jacket and an outter shell with a hood for weather, a sport jacket, if me and my DW are going out to a special dinner, and the usual stuff.
The length of stay and access to laundry determines how much I pack. Think layers and multi-use. If most everything you pack, can be used in a couple different ways, you pack less. Hope this helps.

Thanks, ssttrasotm.
Staying for 2 weeks, on-site, so there will be laundry facilities. Will try to think layering....or maybe just buy anything I need if it gets too chilly.

I used to pack like that too Mystic...too much...I finally learned to bring ONE jacket, 2 pairs of shoes, one nice outfit just in case, and enough close for the amount of days we'll be at WDW. It's hard to pack like that..but at least I only come home with a couple of unworn items instead of half a suitcase!

we've never had bad day there this time of year mp always been real hot, bit cooler at night even worn shorts at night too, but mostly jogging bottoms and trainers if we are just walking around nothing to get dressed up for and then theres the smart stuff for eating out and stuff, me and denise alway share a suitcase so we dont take that much and buy all new stuff there what we want anyway :D

Layers are your friend :) A t-shirt with a sweatshirt over it can be great for a long day where the morning and evening are cool. easier to peal off a layer than feel like you need to go change because your hot

Think layers. Think basic colors. Think light tops (color and material) and dark bottoms. We tend to sit on just about anything and that can be bad news for light colored trousers or shorts, or skirts. Darker bottoms will hide any dust, or light dirt better.
Vest/camisole style tops work well with a blouse or the like overtop for cooler times, and the overtop can be removed for when it heats up.
Sweater, cardigan style is about the best bet going. They will keep the chill off, and double as "something nicer" should you need it for an evening.
I swear by a pareo. I use it as a swimsuit cover up and then throw it over me for evening wear. It's amazing how much it can dress up black trousers, and a white silk cami. Not hard to pack either!
Don't skimp on comfortable shoes. Have at least two pair with you. They should be basic (do leave all the heels at home!) and move well from day into evening. Never underestimate what a pair of good sandals can do for you. :)
Cotton is a good fabric, cotton blend (if you can stand it) even better. Avoid rayon, as it wrinkles like the very devil (unless of course you don't mind looking like you slept in your clothes, or like to spend any time of your holiday ironing!). Silk can be ok, but only if it is resistant to water spotting.
I'm not one much for synthetic fabrics, but if you can wear them, go with the ones that best resist creases and wrinkling. Or go with gauze which everyone knows is supposed to be wrinkled!
Don't forget something for the rain, and don't forget the bug repellent. We are having a bumper crop of mosquitoes this year. I drove through an entire swarm the other day on the way back from WDW. It was soooooo disgusting. The car looks awful!
Hope this helps a bit! And as you say, you can always purchase anything you think you might need once you are here!

I am a khaki and polo shirt kind of girl. Khaki shorts or slacks or skirts and bright colored polo shirts. I use long sleeved denim shirts as light jackets and make sure I take a Gortex jacket with a hood. I always take as much underwear and white cotton socks as I can pack. The nice thing about the khaki's and polo's is that they can all go in one load of wash as everything is kind of light colored.
We are going in November-December and I plan on taking the layer thing. The usual khaki polo shirt combo...added with a hooded sweatshirt and a rain jacket that packs into it own pocket (I dislike umbrellas).
Well broken in shoes that I won't mind getting soaked if it rains.
Extra glasses and contacts lenses.

You know...I could come help you pack and then house sit for you! HHHMMM....wonder where you live. House swapping with someone in Britain....that would be fun...and there isn't a quaratine anymore. Although I don't live in Orlando...you would have to find things to do in Atlanta...but just an 8 hour drive to WDW!
Hope you have a great time...just remember...lots of socks! Oh and your favorite stuffed animal or huggy blanket. (yes I am an adult!)

Oh that would be fun! Can you imagine swapping with PA that close to Disney? Or someone near Boston or Maine? How about Colorado? Wonder what kilties house looks like? (I am not eating haggis tho!) Plus JD's near the beach. The River Walk at San Antonio is supposed to be wonderful. and on and on and on!

Strange....on our last visit we got chatting to a lovely couple from Atlanta who were persuading us that we ought to visit there. Georgia is somewhere I would love to travel to.
BevW- let us all know when you get the business up and running!
