View Full Version : Unused tickets - options ?

I have a situation where I have unused days from 2 previous visits to WDW and need to understand the best options for using these and am seeking advice. I have 4 unused days and my 2 children have 2 unused days.

I have contacted Disney and they offer two choices. One is simply use the unused days as individual day park tickets. The other is to use them towards the cost of another longer term ticket, for example a hopper. However, they will not tell me the likely credit I would receive towards the ticket. Clearly it will not be the same as the one day park value. They state I must go to Guest Relations when I arrive in WDW next May.

This leaves me with the problem that if the cash in value is low I might well be better off pre purchasing, say a 7 day hopper plus, from one of the outlets recommended and forget the unused days.

Does anyone have any advice or have any experience of doing this themselves?

It would be impossible for Disney to assess the amount of credit they would give you without being able to read the ticket. That is why you have to go to guest relations. You don't say how old the ticket is or what type of ticket it is but generally you will get the unused value of the ticket applied to the new ticket.

Why not simply use the unused days, and then decide what sort of additional ticket media you need? No reason to accept an amount that would not equal a one day ticket cost, then.

Just curious, if you use them as "individual day park tickets" does that mean you wouldn't have "hopper" privileges? (Meaning being able to "hop" from one park to another in that day) If I remember correctly, if you purchase a one day, one park ticket, you aren't allowed to "hop" to a different park. Of course, this may not be an issue if you don't typically do this...but if you do, it might be something to consider...

Of course, if the ticket media was originally a "hopper pass" I don't very well see how they could enforce that...but then again...I'm not familiar with all the rules of unused days...

Just thought I'd cloud the issue a bit :)

hopper tickets NEVER expire and as you said you can hop too :D

In that case, I think I'd just use the unused days and buy passes for whatever days aren't covered...Unless perhaps you are considering buying something like an AP, and then I might at least "look into" what the value would be if you decided to trade them in...you might be surprised!
