I have apparently missed the few mentions, on this site, of Tokyo's DisneySea. I had no idea such an amazing looking, and highly, HIGHLY praised place even existed.

I've been poking around for info. on DL in Calif. and stumbled on a thread about DisneySea. People were absolutely raving on about it and even going so far as to say that publicity has been "hushed" in this country (U.S.) b/c people would want and expect a park of this kind of caliber here. People who have seen TDS (Tokyo's DisneySea) WDW, DL and Calif. Adventure say that MGM, CA, and AK all seem lack-luster and cheap by comparison.

Raves like that really peaked my interest (b/c I think those are all beautiful parks! ) I have been obsessed by this and have viewed a ton of pictures. Here is one persons photo share of DisneySea (http://pak02.pictures.aol.com/NASApp/ygp/EmailLanding.ygp?event=DirectView&shareInfo=KnVVBplenSOpfV0ZI7RBAl4CvjyCCAc3j7n6xim1 6%2fW%2fjFCnkV3ciA%3d%3d&pageName=AlbumViewFromEmails&locale=en_US) (hit the blue button to view as a guest)

Personally I think the name stinks but WOW what a place! I now have a huge reason to want to go to Tokyo, which until now seemed like a rather intimidating destination.

You're right, the place looks absolutely amazing. This is the park DH most wants to go to. I read some trip reports on another site a year or two ago.

There's also a model of it at the back of the One Man's Dream at MGM. Right before the movie. We didn't get a good look at it because we needed to get into the movie and to a PS.

Thanks for sharing the pics with us. Unfortunately that's the closest I'll ever get to Tokyo - there's no way you'd get me up on a plane for that long! :nervous:

They have a special on the travel channel about it. It was really pretty good. I think that it might actually come on in the next couple of weeks. I can check for you if you want.

I forgot to mention that, thanks mickeycrazy. I have it tivo'd already. The link I put up wasn't the best pictures I found but I put it up b/c it was a nice little sampling. There is a guy who has posted hundreds of pages on the place but any particular page would only show you a detailed look at one very small area. If anyone is interested I'll relocate his pages for you and post another link. Tokyo Disney has a great site too.

I just watched DisneySea Revealed and it is quite amazing. I found out about the name (which now seems like it should have been obvious to me...but it wasn't) In Tokyo you can spend your day at DisneyLand or DisneySea! DS is based on 7 water based sea areas, like Mediterrenian Harbor, Mermaid Lagoon, Port Discovery, American Waterfront, Lost River Delta, Arabian Coast, and Mysterious Island. There were many cultural differences and challenges but it looks absolutely amazing.

Here are some good pic's (http://www.jtcent.com/disneysea/)
Official Site (http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/tds/index_e.html)
marivigi you can explore all the lands and their attractions at Offiicial Site.
