Anyone know the reason for those? Like is it because of an influx of people on those dates? Like that's when school is on vacation or something? We are going in Feb. from the 5-11 and are hoping not to get too many crowds.

The only AP that has blackout dates is the Florida Resident Seasonal Pass and there are no blackout dates in February for it

I think what Dopey is referring to is the blackout dates for the discount codes. ???????

Yes, that is what I mean. I could have sworn I read blackout dates for AP's too.

JM, this is something that WDW has just recently started doing with regular APs. They will announce a time frame for which discounts are valid, then will list several blackout dates within that time frame. Where it used to include just major holidays, it is now including minor holidays as well such as Mother's Day, Father's Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day etc. :( :(
Sure messes up my 4 day weekends.

When I read blackout dates for APs I read that as days you could not use your AP because it is blacked out. My AP is a resident seasonal so I cannot use it during spring break, summer and Christmas. That's why I said that the only AP that had blackout dates was the resident seasonal. I didn't realize she was wondering about code blackouts

Now I'm really confused. Does that mean that we can't use our AP's to get into the park on those days? Or does the blackout period just mean that we can't use it for Room discounts?

The blackout periods your talking about are rooms only. The only AP that has blackout dates for admission is the Florida Resident Seasonal Pass

Dopey, the AP room discount blackout periods you are referring to are due to high resort occupancy. If there are few remaining rooms, it doesn't make sense to discount them. In January, it's due to the Marathon. In February, it's due to school vacations, holiday weekends, and "Lotusworld" etc. Disney's getting back to it's pre-9/11 resort occupancy, and while it is great for Disney, it's rough on AP holders who've becomed accustomed to almost automatic discounting.
Try the BDP code - you might have better luck. Or, consider moving your dates around, or an alternate resort. It's been a challenge, but it can be done. Good luck!
