So DH won't be making the Dec. trip. No vacation time left (he did it to himself, but if I remind him of that one more time, he's going to deck me...). On the way home from USC and Grandma's house last weekend he says to me, "I'm really sorry I can't go on this trip...." Last night he ordered my and DD's APs (we're going back in April, so it only makes sense) and MVMCP tickets. And this time the comment is "I hate doing this if I'm not going..." :sadwalk:
He is drinving me crazy!!! Before this he was more than happy for us to go! When I'd wonder if I was making a mistake by going without him, he'd be "You're going to have a great time! Don't worry about it..." And now.....I get guilt. :wall:

Oh, it's a shame that he can't travel with you - he'll make sure he holds onto more vacation days next year!:) Put your guilt aside by telling him about all the goodies he can look forward to you and DD bringing home to him.

Any chance he could take a few "non-paid" holidays hon?
I know you feel guilt, and I know it's because you want him to be there as much as he *wants* to be there...but sometimes reality just stinks...

When I had made the plans for my Thanksgiving week trip, it was just going to be me and Caitie...a time for us to just play. Rick did not want to go. He was adament about it.
Then, about a month ago, he was ALL FOR going to WDW with us. He was saying how much fun I was having planning this trip, and when I got the vacation video, we watched it and he just up and said...I would love to go with you guys.
Now it's me, Caitie, Rick, AND another DGD Paige. This trip just gets more and more crowded!
I'm glad he's going, and I'm glad Paige is going also, but I sort of miss the fact that this trip started out to be just me and Caitie.

I used to have a bumper sticker that read, "My mom is the travel agent for guilt trips..."

Krista, remind DH that I will keep you out of trouble :D I promised him I would. You're going to have fun and it will be a reminder not to use all his vacation time too early next year :D Remember that the meet is sometime in October next year

Krista,
Oh, I know the guilt! It appears that DH and DS are not coming with me on the Dec trip, either... The trouble is they don't have an activity to otherwise occupy them at home on that weekend (if only they had a camping trip to go on over that weekend...) . I have tossed around different plans for them to join me without DS missing school, but none of them have worked out (the airfares were such that they would come down on Saturday night and have to return early Sunday morning which didn't make sense) and DS said he really wanted to stay home...and study (sounds suspicious, doesn't it?) .
It is kind of a family tradition to go to the Candlelight processional. I know I will be thinking about them when I go..so, I have even put off making my CP ressies.
-DC :ears: (Working on putting the guilt behind me.... pass the chocolate, please...:) )

Krista:hug: I know exactly what you are going through . DH also used all of his vacation days back in May . However , he did have a few personal days left , which he was going to use for a long weekend getaway ... But then he found out that the beginning of December are blackout days . He was also fine , when I started making plans , but now that the time is getting closer , he has been saying little things to me... like you are sure going to have a good time , don't worry about me , I'll be working all the time like I normally do and eating TVdinners while you are gone , the dogs and I will be just fine. If they know already that they are going to end up laying a guilt trip , why say , oh go , you are going to have such a blast , and then you ask ARE YOU SURE ? And they say Yes, please go , you deserve to go and have a good time . And then 30 some days before the trip Dum, De, Dum Dum !

Alysia and I have gone off to WDW a couple of times now without Mike. He is fine with it, even encourages us to go and have a good time.
What happens while I am gone? He eats hotdogs from 7-11 and doesn't clean up anything! I'm surprised he is able to feed the cats and dog  He gets really pathetic about he was "left" at home. ha! that was HIS choice.
