I was just wondering if anyone else had been on one??
Me and my two friends are planning one for next year, hopefully wanting to book it next week but are just a bit unsure on a few things at the moment, in particular the dates we would like to go, so any help/advice would be very appriciated
We we are planning on orlando/bahamas staying in Wyndham palace resort and spa in Orlando and Atlantis in Bahamas, as anyone stayed in either of these hotels?? if do what are they like? At the moment we have chosen to go 23rd september - 7th october possibly even till the 14th october having either 7 nights in each resort or possibly 10, would 7 nights be enough for Orlando?? and is this a nice time to go with the weather?? as we are all sun freaks and want to be getting tan while we are away aswell and really don't like and won't to try to avoid it as much as possible.
We will be bookign our holiday with virgin and anybody whos been with them before will know you can pre purchase your theme park tickets for disney and universal, is this worth doing?? does anyone have any advice on what tickets are good to get at the moment we are thinking of 5 park orlando flexi ticket and 7 day park hopper plus ticket with disney quest, though I suppose what tickets we buy depends on what parks we want to visit, but I ideally just wanted to know wether its worth buying them when booking our holiday with virgin or getting them elsewhere?
And one last question (sorry for asking so many) we are having car hire with our package but due to our age its cost an extra £189 for the insurance, is getting a car even worth it, or would you's advice a non driving option??

Ohh am very sorry one last thing does anyone know of any good insurance companys for peopel with excisting medical conditions?? as I doubt Virgin would even consider insuring me.
Thanks in advance for anyone that helps with any of my questions :wiggle:

Welcome to the UOG! Please don't post in colors as there are different background available and some make colors hard to read :)

As far as tickets, you can generally save money by buying them prior to your visit. Click "Discount tickets" at the top of the page and it will bring you to Maple Leaf. They'll beat any price you can find :)

I'm doing 9 days, 8 nights at Disney in Nov/Dec and I don't know where I"m going to fit in Universal! You could easily spend a week at the Disney parks alone!

As far as a car - does your hotel have a shuttle? Is it a set schedule? these are things you should consider because hotels that have scheduled shuttles make it a little more difficult and there is a chance the last shuttle back will be before the fireworks at the various parks. It also makes it more difficult if you want to have a meal at a park after closing.

the end of September/beginning of October is beautiful! Figure temps still in the mid-80's. Do remember however that it is still hurricane season.

Please take a moment to read the Forum Rules (http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/forum1.html) and the message boards dos and don'ts (http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/forum2.html)

Take a look around, find the right forum for your question and post away!

I have stayed at the Wyndham Palace a couple of times. It is mainly a convention hotel so it has no Disney "magic". The self-parking is a bit of a walk from the hotel. Check-in was a bit slow.

Good points are it is walking distance to Downtown Disney, the transport to the parks is very good, the room was clean and well maintained, it has a gym. I can't comment on the spa or pool, as I didn't use them.

Have you considered booking the different parts of your holiday separately rather than as a package? You can usually get the Wyndham Palace for around $60 on Priceline (plus $10 resort fee).

As its not on the WDW site we didn't expect it to have the disney feel to it, that's why we were considering a hotel on site, but I don;t think we are really to bothered as long as it's a nice hotel to be honest.

I thoroughly recommend the wyndham... it's a great resort with two great restaurants (especially like the outback). I know what people mean about disney magic but to be honest, its so close to downtown disney and everything there that it didnt bother me at all.

It's very easy to book twin centre from the uk I agree... and we've done 2 AND 3 centre holidays and it all worked out nice and easy :)

I would be VERY careful booking tickets in advance with virgin though.. it often means they take your money but wont give you the tickets till you get out there.. then you have to go to one of their TRULY awful selling meetings (and trust me, they wont give you your tickets till you've sat there for an hour listening to them try and sell you MORE tickets).

Car wise.. we never use one... some people MUST have one, for us we like to chill and use the disney busses. The wyndham has its own busses that it shares with other closeby hotels and theyre OK but not as good as Disney's own... you can hop across the road to DTD to get disney busses to other resorts but for the parks, you either have to use the Wyndhams or go to a disney resort and get a disney bus there. We've yet to have a problem not hiring a car... every now and again I hear a horror story about a tourist having an accident and all the legal complexities that follow <shudder>.

Welcome to the site!!! feel free to ask any other questions you may have ;))
